The Best Chicken Soup Ever

Reviewed: Oct. 12, 2009
I made this for my family that was visiting from Fla. Being that is was cold here I thought this would be a good idea never done homemade before. This was a really great recipe with a few changes. I put it all in the crockpot and cooked it all day long, didn't use the soup mix(didn't need it)I used chicken breasts instead of whole chicken(less grease)No noodles.Added more celery less carrots. It was sooo good.

Apple Pie by Grandma Ople

Reviewed: Nov. 26, 2009
This was really good. I made it for Thanksgiving. I used 6 apples and that was way to much, also did what others did mixed the syrup mixture with the apples before putting it in the crust and with the cinnamon and nutmeg along with vanilla. I did however had to make more of the syrup I don't know if it was something I did wrong or that the apples were soo big. I bake it for 40 mins at 350. It was really good everyone loved it,will make again at xmas

Creamy Macaroni and Cheese

Reviewed: Apr. 4, 2010
very good and creamy. I used what I had on hand and everyone loved it. Used ground mustard instead, and 1% milk instead of the evaporated milk. The cheese I had only mexican shreddered style,it tasted great to us. The next time I will try it with evaporated milk to see the difference.

Applesauce Drop Doughnuts

Reviewed: May 29, 2010
This were so good, everyone loved them...I made a few changes: instead of butter used 2tbs of canola oil, more applesauce,1tsp of cinnamon and nutmeg, just 3 tsp of baking powder and added 1/4tsp of ground cloves. I did make it the night before,so the flavors got to sit in the fridge. I used reguar sugar b/c I didn't have powder sugar..Will get that next time.it's a keeper

Stuffed Bell Peppers

I gave four stars b/c I did things different. All in all it was very good. I used red and yellow peppers (sweeter, prettier). I boiled the pepper halfs in water until tender, cooked the rice seperate. I sauted the oinion with a clove of garlic,1/4 tsp of cumin, thyme, oregano then added the tvp and salt and pepper. Stuffed the peppers w/cooked rice, topped with tvp mixture, topped with pasta sauce topped with shredded marble chedder cheese. Cooked until cheese was golden brown. This was the first time I used tvp and everyone liked it.

Stuffed Pork Chops I

Reviewed: Dec. 12, 2010
I was impressed with this recipe it was really good.I didn't stuff b/c pork chops that I had were not thick enough. I also used herb seasoned croutons (that all I had on hand). Mix the soup with milk not water and added a little garlic powder to the mix. Saute the celery and onions and added a lot more than 2 Tbsps.Everyone loved it,even my teen who hates pork chops.
