Focaccia Bread

I've never made any type of bread before, and though I did it all by hand, I found it incredibly easy. I needed a bit more water than the recipe called for (the dough was too dry otherwise), and I let it rise for 40 minutes instead of 20. I also proofed the yeast before adding it in. Came out great, but a bit dry and lacking in flavor. I'll try adding in some other goodies next time. ***UPDATE**** Gave this recipe another star. I decided to try it out again. I didn't use a bread machine and used butter instead of olive oil (and plan on using melted butter instead of vegetable oil when I make it again). Brushed the top with melted butter and minced garlic (fresh). Came out a bit flat, but it made some AWESOME breadsticks for dipping. So...another star it is.

Colleen's Potato Crescent Rolls

Very tasty and versatile recipe! Very easy for a newbie to pull off too. I didn't let the dough rest as long as was suggested (8 hours or more), but it came out great all the same. Just be aware that the recipe makes a LOT of these rolls, so make sure you have plenty of friends or family over to help eat them.

Easy Sugar Cookies

Easy and tasty! I added a bit more vanilla than the recipe called for and they came out great at 375 for 10 minutes. I tried leaving them in for 8 minutes, as suggested by some reviewers, and they were still doughy in the middle. Just make sure you keep an eye on them is all I can really offer! ***UPDATE*** Decided to make these again and they came out great. Prior to baking I rolled mine in a combo of 2 tbsp. sugar to 1 tsp. cinnamon and they came out awesome. Definitely a keeper recipe now.

Scottish Shortbread IV

Authentic shortbread taste. Sooo much better than what you find in stores. I made mine entirely by hand (no mixers here), and didn't have a rolling pin or anything, so I let the dough sit in the fridge for about 15 minutes, then rolled it into balls, flattened them with my palm, and did the fork punches. Cooked them for about 18 minutes and the outcome? Super tasty. If a college guy like me can do it, anyone can. Inexpensive and easy recipe. I highly recommend it!

Clone of a Cinnabon

1 word: AWESOME. I don't have a bread machine so I made these guys by hand using some of the tips from the other reviewers. These things rose up big, and were very tasty. I ommitted the cream cheese for the icing---definitely double-up on the icing! I'll be making these again sometime and altering the recipe a bit...maybe add some chopped nuts of some sort to the filling in the middle.

Baked Zucchini Chips

Quick and easy. Tastes great. Don't try and substitute shredded parm (all I had)...it won't be as salty. I added a bit of red pepper powder into my breadcrumb mix and a bit of garlic powder. Great recipe.

Garlic Green Beans

So simple, yet soooo tasty! I use frozen green beans instead of the canned ones (they're healthier). It's a great accompaniment to roasted or fried chicken...not so much with fish. Or they make a great meal themselves if frozen or canned green beans is all you have laying around.

Scrumptious Strawberry Shortcake

Pretty good recipe. I liked it, but my mate thought the shortcake was too savory and a bit like a scone. The shortcake WAS a bit biscuit like, but very tasty all the same to me. Since I didn't purchase enough strawberries and whipcream, I just saved the shortcakes and had them with some eggs the next morning. Tasty!

Easiest Peanut Butter Fudge

It's still chilling, but so far it looks like it's turning out great. I followed the advice of several other reviewers and did the whole 2 cups of brown sugar, 3 cups of powdered sugar, and 1 cup of PB. Since I don't have a mixer I did it all by hand (I don't recommend it...). Took about 5 minutes of vigorous mixing to get all the clumps of powdered sugar mixed in and for it to become smooth. Tasted great off the spoon. ;) **UPDATE** Tasted great and was a hit! A bit sweet, but tasty! The PB flavor was not overpowering at all and it came out just like regular fudge. Thanks for the great recipe! I know what I'll be making this holiday seasoning for the gift baskets.

Easy to make...Mine didn't rise that big, but I think it's because I flattened the dough out too much (I got 9 biscuits instead of 6). Flavor is OK. I think I'll try another suggestion and use cutter shortening or even chilled margarine one day.

Paula's Bread Sticks

Not great, just OK. They're kind of flavorless (so I recommend dumping some herbs into the dough) and definitely not as tasty after a day or so. Great right out of the oven though. Mine stayed soft all over. Made them twice, both times I got the same result. Not going to save this one. Sorry!

Honey Of An Oatmeal Bread

*UPDATE* This bread is awesome. I've made it several times in both a breadmaker, and by hand. Each time I make it, it comes out great. My mate loves it. I do substitute the water with skim or 2% milk (whichever I have on hand)...it enhances the flavor and makes the loaf more dense. Definitely a keeper recipe. I use it at least once a week. Thanks!

Grandmother's Buttermilk Cornbread

Followed the recipe exactly aside from mixing it in the same pan and such (I don't have a cast iron skillet or anything). The flavor is EXCELLENT, but the texture was a bit off for mine. Not sure what happened there...it didn't come out looking like the photos others have shared. Maybe I did something wrong? Maybe I shouldn't have used extra large eggs (all I had)?

Made this in my new bread machine. Wasn't really all that impressed with the flavor. Nothing spectacular. Probably good with some spaghetti though, or dipped in some herb infused EVOO.
