About this Cook
I've been working in a Rehab Center kitchen for two years now. I went to school and got my degree to be an actor and director, but it recently hit me that I absolutely LOVE to cook. I get a real rush out of trying new recipes and playing around with flavors and textures. Recently, I've been learning a lot from Gordon Ramsay's books and blogs. I still have a long way to go before I'm cooking most of that stuff, but the fundamentals he teaches are excellent and I think I'll learn a lot. I am also considering going for a second degree in culinary technology.
My favorite things to cook
Any Italian food. My signature dish at the moment would have to be fried chicken cutlets with applesauce, but I've also recently learned to cook a Beef Wellington and Honey Lemon Sticky Chicken. I also enjoy making scrambled eggs in the morning, with fresh mushrooms and tomatos.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My family always eats big. I've learned a lot from both my mom and grandma. Christmas and Thanksgiving are always amazing as the food never seems to stop coming. A recipe that has been passed down to me from my mom is for fresh tomato sauce, and I've learned to combine that with my Grandma's amazing Lasanga recipe.
My cooking triumphs
Learning to cook a Filet Beef Wellington and winning the local Iron Chef competition at my job.
My cooking tragedies
I once destroyed a batch of 172 Snickerdoodles and had to redo them all from scratch.

Baked Ziti IV
Enjoyed this a lot. Only thing I changed was to substitute turkey for beef because the wife can't eat beef. Will use this again!

Quick and Easy Chicken
I liked it. I added a tiny bit of honey to the sauce to thicken it up a bit. Will make again!

Salmon Patties III
Tried this last night. It came amazing. I used breadcrumb in place of cornflakes, but other than that, followed it to the T. Also made a nice sauce with mayo, mustard and garlic and cooked up some asparagus in oil and garlic with a dash of balsamic vinegar. Great meal and my fiance loved it, and she doesn't eat fish! Thank you for the recipe!
