Soft Sandwich Buns

Reviewed: Aug. 25, 2009
My husband loves stuffed buns. This recipe works great for the buns. I don't have a bread machine, so, I used ingredients as in this recipe (no butter) but followed the usual method of soaking the yeast in warm water (1/2 cup), mixing wet ingredients (room temperature) together and then adding dry ingredients to it. I needed almost a cup more of flour to get a good consistency, probably because of the water I used with the yeast. Once I divided the dough to bun size, I stuffed them with a potato and spice filling and let them rise. I lightly sprayed them with cooking oil, sprinkled a few sesame seeds on top. Looked awesome. We had a gathering and everyone loved them!

Herb Quick Bread

Reviewed: Sep. 13, 2008
I was looking for a quick bread recipe and this seemed fairly quick. Unfortunately, I did not read the reviews until after I had already started and was too late to back-out. I had tuned down the recipe to 8 servings. To avoid the dryness and hardness, I added 1/4 cup extra milk and 1 tbsp extra oil. I also added Rosemary and salt to the dry ingredients. The end result did turn out to be quite soft, but I should've added more salt and the taste is still quite bland, so, maybe instead of oil, if butter was used in the recipe, it might've added more taste. Maybe next time, I will try it with those changes.

Versatile Bread

Reviewed: Oct. 10, 2007
This was my first bread with yeast and I loved it. The buns are soft, but just a tad dry. Adding a little milk may help. I stuffed them with a potato filling, and they were just yum!
