Simmered Cranberry Pork Chops

Reviewed: Feb. 8, 2013
We really liked this recipe and will make it again! I altered slightly, added 1/2 water 1/2 orange juice and added a generous 'dollup' of dijon mustard. Very tasty!

Pineapple Ham Casserole

Reviewed: Aug. 27, 2008
I have been making this recipe for several years now and all my family loves it! We have added it to our family favorites recipe book. I always use red onions. I like the color and the flavor better. I also found the best way to mix is to put everything in a large ziplock bag and my kids get to 'squish' it. Thanks for the fav! PS! This reheats very well the next day too! I almost always double the recipe for leftovers!

Outback Onion Soup

Reviewed: Jul. 18, 2007
This was very similar to Outback's soup! I made the recipe with just minor changes. I sliced 4 small-med. onions and one really big one, and had too many onions so I added 2 more cups of water & 2 more boullion cubes. I added 1 cup of white cooking wine & left out the salt. I used a bit more cheese & pepper than called for to compensate for the extra liquids. Thickened with cornstarch so it didn't need to simmer so long. Turned out very good & was better the next day! Thanks for the great recipe!!

Broccoli Ham Ring

Reviewed: May 25, 2006
My family found this to be quite a nice little change from our usual fare! It was quick to put together. I made just as stated but added a couple Tbsp of Mayo to make a creamier filling and balance the mustard flavor. Very nice. I think it would be fun to try this with chicken as well.

Chicken Stew With Coconut Milk

Reviewed: May 4, 2006
Mmmmmmm delicious! I love curry and this sure hit the spot! I pretty much made this just as written. I didn't have quite enough lima beans, and I used regular stock and tomatoes (didn't have the no salt). I thickened it a bit with cornstarch since I like a thick stew and served it over rice yummmm! The only complaint I have was that my pot was not quite big enough and it made a mess of my microwave! I will buy a bigger pot before I make it again or try it in the slow-cooker. Thanks for the new addition to my favorites file!

Double Layer Pumpkin Pie

Reviewed: Apr. 10, 2006
My husband is a huge fan of pumpkin pie, but he thought this was just okay. I did use pumpkin pie spice and the cloves, and I think this is what made it just okay for us. The ombo of the cloves and the allspice in the PPS made it a little overpowering. I may try this again, but I would not use the PPS. Also, I think the cream cheese layer needed a little more sweetness to it.. maybe some vanilla?

Turkey Brine

Reviewed: Apr. 10, 2006
This was my first time brining a turkey, I will NEVER do it any other way from now on! I used the recipe as called for except I was a little short on the Veg. broth so I topped it off with apple juice as suggested by previous posters. I only had 14hrs for it to soak, and I wayyyyyy overcooked because I had accidently turned off the alarm on my temperature gauge (oops) but the turkey was still moist and very very tender. It had such a nice flavor and the gravy from the drippings was good although a tad salty. I omitted the salt I normally put in my potatoes and it balanced. ^__^ Thanks for the recipe!!!!

Deb's Scallops Florentine

Reviewed: Nov. 29, 2005
Very easy and super Yummm! I think next time I would double the sauce just to have more on the side. (more calories!!)I would also reduce the Old Bay to taste as it was a bit strong for me. I didn't have cream so used 1/2 & 1/2...worked great. I will make this again and again! Thanks!

Pearl Baked Cream Onions

Reviewed: Aug. 29, 2004
Made recipe exact...using frozen onions. These were very good and reminded me of ones my Grandpa used to make. I will reduce the pepper next time as it was a little too much for my personal taste, but very yummm!

Easy Peach Crisp I

Reviewed: Aug. 29, 2004
YUMMM!!! I used butter and extra peaches. Had to bake a little longer to get golden. couldn't find the Butter Pecan cake other reviews listed, but I tried Betty Crocker's Cinnamon Swirl using some of the cinnamon mix in the peaches and mixed the rest up in the cake mix for the topping. didn't need any extra sugar or cinnamon. Got rave reviews!

My husband asked for seconds & that's a first!! I didn't have any dill relish so I just finely chopped two tiny baby dills and did add just a bit of red onion and a dash of garlic powder. Yummy! & sooooo fast! Thanks for a great recipe!
