German Spaetzle Dumplings

Reviewed: Mar. 16, 2008
This recipe is great! We use it regularly and love it. For those who are new to spaetzle: "dumplings" in this case doesn't mean teaspoonsful. A better description is: German pasta - but in little, tiny droplet shapes. Also, it is supposed to be a very moist, almost runny dough (some recipes are stiffer than others, this one is a thinner one). Yum!

Quick and Easy Alfredo Sauce

Reviewed: Nov. 8, 2009
I've used this many times now, and everyone loves it in my house (me, husband, 2 small kids). It's super easy to make and tastes oh so good! If it looks too lumpy in the early stages, don't worry, once you add the milk, it smooths right out. Yum!

Buttery Soft Pretzels

Reviewed: Nov. 14, 2009
These are fantastic - the flavor is sooo great. We did salt on some, but once we tasted them brushed with butter and sprinkled with cinnamon sugar, we never went back!

Irish Potato Candy

Reviewed: Mar. 24, 2010
These were great and so easy. I don't think they taste at all like See's, but they're wonderful in their own way. Like a little ball of frosting with coconut wrapped in cinnamon. I thought the cinnamon might overwhelm me, but it didn't at all. Delish! (And I agree to refrigerate between steps - so much easier.)

Lemon Pie I

Reviewed: Apr. 23, 2010
I was skeptical of this one. It sounded too easy, and looked kind of weird, but I must say: it tasted lemony and fantastic! Thanks so much for the easy, yummy recipe!

Buttercream Icing

Reviewed: Nov. 17, 2011
I agree, all butter is the only way to go. I think those who do a lot of intricate decorating like the Crisco because it holds up a little better, but butter has such a better flavor.

Hamantashen

Reviewed: Mar. 6, 2012
I think these are great. They may not be exactly like a New York bakery, but I think the traditional ones are too bland anyway. I thought these were a tasty and improved version! They worked well for us, and the freezer trick helped. We like to fill ours with chocolate chips or cherry pie filling.

Cheeseburger Loaf

Reviewed: Nov. 8, 2009
I'd give this 3 1/2 stars if I could. Not quite a 3, not quite a 4. The flavor of the biscuit was good. Make sure to really flour the surface well, and make the ground meat into tiny pieces. Mine stuck to the counter quite a bit, and had some holes. It was a huge hit with my 3 and 4 year olds!

Aunt Janet's Pumpkin Dump Cake

Reviewed: Apr. 21, 2010
I made this exactly as written. I thought the flavor was great, not too spicy at all. But the top cakey part was way too dusty and dry, and it had these hard disc-like pieces all over the top that we couldn't cut through. I thought it would be more moist and have a cake consistency.

Cheddar Sandwich Souffle

Reviewed: Aug. 15, 2012
Sorry. I thought, since the main complaint was blandness, I could make this work. But it wasn't good, nor beautiful. Mostly weird.
