About this Cook
Hi my name is Anthony . I'm 24 years old and I Love to cook . Whether it be on the grill , on the stove or in the oven . I never took Culinary arts in high school . I joined the Automotive Repair Industry for a living . I have people tell me all the time that I should pursue a career in the Culinary Arts . But I think I need a few more notches underneath the 'ol belt . That is why I decided to join your community . I love to meet new people and hope to pick up some new ideas that I can conform to my own recipes . I appreciate constructive criticism , so please feel free to comment on my recipies that I upload as I get the chance . Thanx
My favorite things to cook
I absolutely LOVE to BBQ . The more the merrier ! If I have a cold beer and a crowd of folks to cook for , you have just made my day ! I enjoy trying different BBQ sauce recipies and a little store bought occasionally . I can grill you up anything from Burgers to Pizza , back to Filet Mignon .
My favorite family cooking traditions
Usually if I'm cooking for the kids or the Grand familly I try to go Italian or baked foods . Every once in a while I will fry something but we have a few Diabetics in the genes so I try to stay away from salty or greasy foods . ( for them of coarse I'm only 24 I eat whatever I feel like he he )
My cooking triumphs
Well not to " toot my own horn as you might say " . I have to say that the one thing above all that I am the most proud of is my grilled hamburgers . They are the best you will ever eat ( if done right ). They are sort of difficult to make . But I guarantee ; If you were not hungry before they hit the grill , you will be when they hit that plate in the middle of your dinner table and you smell that delicious aroma of BBQ sauce infused into the meat slow cooked over all those hickory wood chunks smoking atop of the charcaol biquetes . ( Is your mouth watering yet ? Wait till I upload my Signature recipe and try it out yourself or for your loved ones . You will definately be the life of the party ! )
My cooking tragedies
Okay , okay everyone makes mistakes every once in awhile right ? Well , my worst cooking tradgedy almost made me stop cooking all together a number of years ago . I believe that I was a Sophmore in High School and I was making some fried chicken for myself one weekend (at home alone might I add). Unknowing of the certain peril that lie in the near future only moments away . I had the Vegetable oil up too high on the stove and didn't know it . I walked out the back for just a moment to borrow an egg from the tenant living behind us . No sooner than I opened the back door , the entire house was filled with black smoke and all I could see was the luminous glow of my mothers two year old kitchen burning before my eyes . I managed to get to the fire extinguisher and put out the blaze . Even though I extinguished the flames the damage was much more significant than the price of a few eggs . Like I said before I nearly gave up my career as a cook altogether . ( Sorry again mom )
