About this Cook
I'm a college student that loves to eat "bad" food, so I'm learning to cook different meals that are more nutritous.
My favorite things to cook
I've been making desserts much more often that anything else, and Ive found that I can make a cheescake pretty well.
My favorite family cooking traditions
I wouldn't say I follow any traditions, I just like to cook things that a lot of American families eat. I love burritos, burgers, spaghetti, and I love bread, just in general. I could probably survive only on bread if needed :D
My cooking triumphs
Cheesecakes. I kind of went crazy and made 4 within a few weeks. They were good but one of my roomates and I gained about 5 lbs. because of them.

Cinnamon Honey Butter
This was pretty good, and I was surprised at how close it came to this cinnamon butter used at a local restaurant. The only thing I didn't like was that it tasted a little too sweet. I'd probably cut back on the sugar a little. Still delicious though. UPDATE: Tried this again, this time I only used about a tablespoon + 1 teaspoon of honey, 1/8 cup of confectioners sugar, and a little extra cinnamon. I thought this tasted great; the butter is what shined through. Just how I like it. This is now a five!

Real Italian Calzones
I was a little nervous since I have never made calzones before, but these turned out great! I had to make a couple alterations because I didn't have all the ingredients available. I used brown sugar instead of white sugar, and mozzerella cheese instead of ricotta. I also put butter on top instead of the egg. I'm definitely going to make this again, but next time I'll properly prepare for these.

Monkey Bread II
This was a great recipe! I made a couple changes though. I used butter instead of margarine, I made the dough by hand, and I let the bread rise (after mixing and forming into a smooth ball) in a large oiled bowl for one hour. TIP - To create a good environment for the bread to rise, preheat the oven to 200 F for 10 minutes, then turn off the oven. Put the bread in the oven and let rise for one hour. After putting the pieces of dough coated with cinnamon and sugar in the pan, let rise in the oven for another hour covered with clear plastic. I also found that using a springform pan works great because you can remove the sides easily.
