My grandmother used to make this for me every birthday! This is the same recipe, except she would add 1 1/2 cup mini marshmallows into the cake batter. Yummy! Also, I noticed there is a repeat of butter and cocoa powder in the icing on this recipe which is an error. . It only needs 1/2 butter and 3 TBS cocoa powder...

Venison Chili

Fluffy Pancakes

BEST pancakes in the world. Reminds me of my granddad's pancakes, which I loved. This is the only recipe that I've found that comes close to his, and I've been searching for years. Gotta triple the recipe next time. Don't over mix. I whisked dry with wet ingredients about 8 strokes. Light and fluffy. Thanks SO much, Kris, for sharing this recipe.

Cajun Style Red Bean and Rice Soup

Yummy! Didn't have bacon or ham hock on hand but I did use Conecuh County sausage (Alabama) and boy was this tasty. Will definitely make this again with all the right ingredients. I'm sure it will be fabulous.

Chewy Chocolate Chip Oatmeal Cookies

These were the best cookies I have ever made. I have made these twice in 2 days. I did not alter the recipe. I used unsalted butter (the recipe did not speciify). The first batch into the oven came out nice and round, soft and chewy. Perfect. The last batch into the oven was even more so. I suppose that it may have something to do with the instant oatmeal absorbing some moisture over time before baking. I did not have any problems with the cookies not holding shape or being thin.

Slow Cooker Maple Country Style Ribs

Increased the spices to 1 tsp and maple syrup and soy sauce to 1/3 cup (per other suggestions) and this was WONDERFUL Thanks for such a great recipe!

Alyson's Broccoli Salad

Absolutely wonderful! I followed the recipe exactly as is. I wasn't sure whether to use roasted salted sunflower seeds or unsalted, which I could not find. I ended up buying raw shelled sunflower seeds and toasting them myself in the oven, and they were fabulous in the salad! Thanks for such a wonderful recipe!

Buttermilk Pancakes II

This isn't an official rating, b/c I did not have all the ingredients. I was out of buttermilk so I used plain yogurt instead and had to add a bit of whole milk to thin out the batter. They were REALLY GOOD! I can't wait to make them with buttermilk, though. I bet they are even better!
