Classic Goulash

Reviewed: Jan. 16, 2013
This recipe is a classic midwest version (base) recipe of goulash. I grew up on the Iowa/Illinois border and this is how my entire family makes it - but we season to taste. We use worchestsire sauce instead of soy but either one would either way. Considering this is a base recipe you can add whatever veggies you want! My aunt usually tosses in a can of corn and I add a beef boullion cube for a little extra flavor. Also, I boil my noodles separate and them toss them in sauce. This recipe is a great winter comfort food.

Beef Stew VI

Reviewed: Jan. 12, 2012
This recipes was really awesome! I didnt change much about the recipe itself, except i did do the 1 tsp of ketchup, A1, and worcestershire and i added more cornstarch mixture to make it thicker, added green beans and corn. i seasoned its according to taste. Staying true to my german gma's cooking style, i served this over elbow macaroni. what a great warm comfort food! Thanks!

Mom's Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Oct. 25, 2010
made these cookies for my older brother, he absolutely loved them and calls them "pillow cookies" I like the idea of being able to flavor the cookies with different kinds of pudding. These cookies DO NOT spread whatsoever and the idea is to have the bottoms of the cookie almost match the top. I pulled these out before they looked "done" My next batch will be with pumpkin spice flavored pudding mix and chocolate chips! :)

Chicken and Dumplings III

Reviewed: Oct. 9, 2008
After adding some personal touches and feeding this to my brother, he demanded to know how to make it! Definately, a nice comfort food on those cold fall/winter days. *note* this would even be good without the dumplings and just add some rice for some chicken and rice soup!

Easy OREO Truffles

Reviewed: Oct. 9, 2008
drizzled these with white chocolate. simply awesome and irresistable - extremely rich but soo delicious! I have acually been offered money to make these! for a helpful hint - i used my crockpot to melt the chocolate - set on warm. checking on and stirring every so often. it took a few hours to completely melt - start it in the mornin when you grab your cup of joe/or the night before. it kept all day until i was able to get to it. :)
