German Sauerbraten

This was the BEST sauerbraten we have ever eaten. You could cut the meat with a fork! I used a sirloin tip roast, so it shrunk a lot, but I expected that. Thank you so much for sharing this recipe. I'm already looking forward to having this again!

Pecan Snack

This was really good. I received a huge box of pecans for Christmas and didn't know what I was going to do with them, so I made this recipe. I couldn't stop eating them. I know all those pecans are going to go quickly. Thanks for sharing.

Garden Fresh Tomato Soup

This was OK. The recipe didn't state if the 1 slice of onion was thick or thin and I wasn't sure if you put all of the cloves and onion through the food mill, too. So I did and the soup had a strange taste.

Fresh Spinach Salad

Blueberry Sour Cream Coffee Cake

I had a little trouble with this recipe. A website told me that 5/8 of a cup is 1/4 cup plus 2 tablespoons. So I used that and the cake took FOREVER to bake. It took 1 1/2 hours. Was VERY moist so I think the above 5/8 measurement was wrong I went on another website and was informed that 5/8 of a cup is 1/2 cup plus 2 tablespoons. The cake is good, though but very heavy and sticky.

Red Cabbage

This is absolutely delicious. THE BEST! I followed Carolynn's suggestions because I too was going to can the cabbage. I used cider vinegar instead of white. I tripled the recipe as I had 3 cabbage heads. I only used 5 apples. This is the genuine, authentic taste that has not been "sugared" down for American palates! YUM!!!

Absolutely Delicious! I, too, didn't have rosemary so I substituted ground nutmeg. Also added a little more salt and used my own canned cicken broth. Thanks so much for sharing this!

Rose Galletta's Ricotta Pie

This is delicious! I will definately keep on making this one. The only advice I give is to make sure the pie is COMPLETELY cooled in the fridge or you will have some whey in the bottom. Thank you for sharing this.

Italian Cookies I

Very good cookie and easy to make! I followed Patsiola's recommendation and added anise extract instead of vanilla. I also frosted with 1 cup powdered sugar mixed with 2 Tblsp milk and added 1/4 tsp anise extract. Then I dunked cookie in multi colored nonpariels. Cookies were almost too pretty to eat. Gave cookie a hint of licorice. Will definately make again. Thank you for sharing.
