The Best Fresh Tomato Salsa

Excellent recipe! I used the ingredients as a base, and sort of estimated & adjusted to taste. You really can personalize it, depending on what you like. I really enjoyed the flavor of the bell pepper in it, as I haven't made salsa with that before.

Hudson's Baked Tilapia with Dill Sauce

As I didn't have fresh dill on hand, per other reviewers, I used approx. 3/4 tsp. dill in the sauce. Also substituted lemon juice instead of the lemon slices. Just eyeballed the seasonings. Everything was excellent! The spicy fish with the tangy sauce was fantastic, and the sauce went well with other veggies & salad, too!

Whiskey Cake I

Frankly, I think this recipe was improved a whole lot by virtue of the fact that I refused to boil the mixture once I added the whiskey - what's the point of adding the alcohol to the glaze if you're just going to cook it off? In fact, I added extra whiskey, and it made for a very moist, flavorful cake with a little bit of a kick to it.

Pooter's Wine Cake

I've made this cake three times in the last week - all at the request of my household! The major changes I made were: 1)I didn't have yellow cake mix, so I substituted spice cake (which worked wonderfully, esp. since it's autumn) and 2) I used approx. 1/4 to 1/2 cup sherry mixed with powdered sugar for a glaze on top while it was still warm. This inevitably soaked through the cake, which made it amazingly moist and delicious!

Slow Cooker Cranberry Roast

I'm giving this recipe 5 stars not only because everyone in my house LOVED it, but also because it was so incredibly easy. I just threw it in the crock pot that morning, and it was ready to go for dinner that night. In fact, instead of following that last few directions, I just shredded the meat in the crock pot and let it soak up most of the juices, and then I served it over rice - fantastic! Even easier!
