Biscotti

so easy! thank you for this delicious, but simple recipe. i used crushed fennel seed and cloves with a touch of vanilla instead of anise extract in one loaf, and made a second batch with the same plus crushed almonds, dried cherries and figs. also, i substituted the last 1/4 cup of flour for almond meal. a versatile dessert option!

Authentic Kicked-Up Syrian Hummus

Reviewed: Sep. 4, 2009
Easy and delicious. Added roasted red peppers and the oil from that jar, instead of all the olive oil. Fantastic. Very versatile recipe. I'm about to make it again, this time with sun-dried tomatoes. Mmmm!!! Might not roast all the garlic, since I like a lot of kick in my hummus and roasting really mellows the flavor.

Best Big, Fat, Chewy Chocolate Chip Cookie

Reviewed: Apr. 2, 2008
The best cookies have ever come out for me! Refrigeration is KEY! Mine took a full 15 minutes to bake. 2 cups of chocolate chips is more than enough, feel free to cut it down to a 1.5.

Wheat Crackers

Reviewed: Jan. 12, 2008
This is my first attempt at crackers and they turned out great! Crispy and with excellent flavor, though I made the following changes: 2T flax seed, 1/4c rye flakes, and olive oil instead of vegetable.

Pan de Muertos (Mexican Bread of the Dead)

Reviewed: Nov. 3, 2007
Not too hard and really delicious--definitely let it rise the full suggested time, since I didn't and had to back it twice as long as it called for and it was still a little doughy in the middle. But I also quadrupled the recipe... Great flavor, and the glaze was a huge hit.
