I am a 26 year old mom at home. I have two extreamly handsom boys named Jaydin (7yrs.) and Jarin(5 yrs.). And I am expecting kiddo #3!!! I have a husband who adores me and praises my cooking. (I think he over-exadgerates). My true loves are writing poetry, learning about herbs and alternative medicine, beading, planting flowers and watching them grow, and reading fantasy books And I LOVE lavender bubble baths. I also enjoy canning a few things each harvest season.
My favorite things to cook
italian foods (i.e. lasagna, manacotti, stuffed shells, ect.), potatoe dishes, stews, chillis, soups, salads, some desserts.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My mother hated to cook so we never had traditions. She would order pizza for Christmas eve dinner and we would eat it in the formal dinning room with the very nice dinnerware that only got used that night for the entire year. And for Thanksgiving dinner my parents always took us to the nice buffets at the Marriot. Kind of funny-I self taught myself to cook after my mother passed away. I always begged her to teach me but she never would, so I always told myself I would learn to be an ok cook so I could teach my kids to cook. The one tradition I have carried on is a good spicy chilli, cinnamon rolls and spiced cider for Halloween night. Yum.
My cooking triumphs
Canning my first 12 jars of green beens this year by myself, and learning to use a preasure cooker. I have never entered anything into a fair or contest so I don't have any ribbons. My greatest cooking triumphs are when people tell me that was the best whatever I made and they ask for the recipie.
My cooking tragedies
if I don't set my timer on my oven I will always have a tradgedy.
