Pork Chops with Sour Cream and Mushroom Sauce

Reviewed: Oct. 25, 2007
This recipe would be much too bland without your favorite spices added. I browned the pork with chopped garlic, garlic salt, lemon pepper, pepper and a dash of chili pepper. The gravy was delicious - great with mashed potatoes. I will use this recipe again.

Rosemary Red Potatoes

Reviewed: Oct. 25, 2007
I loved this one! The garlic gave it just the right taste. I used extra garlic and garlic salt. I liked it so much the first time I used this recipe that I made them for dinner three weeks in a row.

Mrs. Sigg's Snickerdoodles

Reviewed: Dec. 16, 2007
I love snickerdoodles, and these were great. However, the last few batches turned out a little too crispy. I should have turned down the oven or shortened the cooking time. I baked at 400 degrees for 8 min.

Mozzarella Chicken

Reviewed: Dec. 16, 2007
I love cheese and I love chicken, so this recipe was perfect for me! I really liked the cheesy garlic flavor. The first breast that I used was way too big, so if possible I would recommend using smaller breasts for this recipe. Also, I left out the wine and just drizzled a butter garlic sauce on them before baking. I have made this twice already.

Cheesy Green Bean Casserole

Reviewed: Dec. 16, 2007
I loved this green bean recipe! I made it for Thanksgiving and everybody loved them. I will be making this for Christmas too! I left out the processed cheese and just used shredded cheddar cheese. It was the perfect amount of cheese and cheesey taste. I couldn't imagine how this dish would taste with all the extra velveeta added...

The Best Banana Bread

Reviewed: Apr. 2, 2008
This recipe is terrific! I used this recipe to make banana bread for the first time and I was amazed at how simple the recipe was. It turned out PERFECT! I used more bananas than called for, four, and the consistency of the bread was perfect and very moist. I added a little vanilla but other than that kept everything the same. The only thing missing was the nuts. This will be my banana bread recipe from now on!

Tater Tot Taco Casserole

Reviewed: Nov. 28, 2012
My girls and I really liked this dinner. It was super easy to make and smelled great cooking. Left out the onions and garlic and used regular frozen corn. I think this would be great as a potluck dish. Will definitely make again. Thanks!!

Apple Pie by Grandma Ople

Reviewed: Nov. 28, 2012
This apple pie was amazing!!! First pie I have ever made and it was great. Everybody went crazy for it. Very classic taste. I poured a good bit of the mix on the apples before adding the lattice as some others had suggested and I think it works perfectly. This is definitely my apple pie recipe hands down. It was just what I wanted.

Turkey and Quinoa Meatloaf

Reviewed: Dec. 3, 2012
First thing I heard from the kids when I told them I was making meatloaf was "ew gross!" Ummmm.... They flipping LOVED it!!! All my girls cleared their plates. I adjusted the recipe as follows: left out the onions and garlic because I didn't have them on hand. I used 1/2 cup of quinoa rather than 1/4 cup. I believe it made the loaf firmer. I added garlic salt and some beef seasoning rub that I had on hand and used franks red hot in place of the chile sauce. I added about 2tablespoons of tomato paste to the glaze and cooked to melt the brown sugar. It tasted like homemade BBQ sauce. All in all this was a hit at my house. The loaf was nice and light and felt pretty healthy. I WILL DEFINITELY MAKE THIS ONE AGAIN!

Coconut Chicken

Reviewed: Feb. 26, 2013
I really liked this recipe as a base. I bought some coconut for another recipe and needed to find another way to use it up. This worked. I of course pounded the chicken out so that it cooks quicker and stays moister. I used flax as an egg replacer and mixed it with the soy sauce and lemon instead of lime. I mixed the marinade in with the flax to coat the chicken and just used panko/coconut to coat. The breading adhered beautifully. I used sour cream instead of mayo and added a bit of soy sauce to the coconut cream sauce topping. It was not bursting with taste but had a very pleasant and mild coconut flavor. I probably won't make the recipe again because my kids didn't care for it. More for an adult palette.

French Crepes

Reviewed: Aug. 24, 2013
This was a great recipe. It was simple to make and my family loved them. I added a teaspoon of powdered sugar and a half teaspoon of vanilla for a bit of a sweeter taste. It was a bit better than the first batch I made following the recipe exactly. The consistency of the batter was great and the crepes cooked up well. This is my crepe recipe from now on.
