Salmon Cakes II

Just what i was looking for. Only tweaks i made was adding garlic, halving the Worcestershire, and using grated Parmesan cheese in place of flour. Oh i also baked them fora bit healthier version. Came out very tasty. Will be making these again!

Streusel Topped Blueberry Muffins

Made 2 different blueberry muffin recipes for this web site for a volunteer day, these were gone first!! People loved the hint of lemon with the blueberries and the topping. Definitely a keeper!! Will add a bit more lemon zest next time i think.

Chinese Chicken Fried Rice I

Very tasty- will definitely be making again . Added bean sprouts and pea pods at the very end so they stayed crunchy. Added fresh garlic and fresh ginger. Didn't measure the soy sauce used - just used to taste. Will add 3 eggs next time.

Beef Barley Soup

Decent base recipe, but bland for my taste. Loved all the veggies. Will try it in the slow cooker next time. Will try adding garlic, & maybe a bay leaf, & more seasoning.

Mother's Pasties

Was in the mood for something different, so tried this. Did use refrigerated dough. Added some garlic, and assorted veggies that i had on hand. Tasty meal, but does take quite a bit of prep work. Made alot of filling, more than i needed, so i added some beef broth and turned the leftovers into a potpie (less prep time needed). Will make again, but as a potpie.

Baked Oatmeal I

A different way to prepare oatmeal. Original recipe does make a big batch, but it tastes just as good as leftovers a few days later. It is nice being able to prep it the night before, so that morning all you need to do is bake it.

Super Sausage Gravy

My hubby is the sausage gravy fan in our house, and he was disappointed. I followed the recipe as written and we found it very bland. Added some hot sauce to help the flavor. Sorry, but will try a different recipe next time.

Cheese's Baked Macaroni and Cheese

Good base recipe. Used leftover rotisserie chicken in place of sausage and added broccoli. Per other reviewers added some garlic. Used crushed up Ritz crackers on top in place of bread crumbs. Could have used a bit more sauce/liquid (will do that next time). My 2 yr old loved it!

Slow Cooker Taco Soup

This was easy to make, but it tasted more like chili w/corn in it than taco soup. I didn't get the taco flavor even with following the recipe as written. The hubby loved it, but he thought i had made a new chili recipe, when i told him it was taco soup, he just said it was good chili that needed a bit more spice added. :) I like my chili recipe better, so probably will not make again.

Tuna Noodle Casserole II

Made this per hubby's request, as i am not a big tuna noodle casserole fan. Used 2 cans cream of mushroom soup, and no cream of celery. Added mushrooms, onions, and peas. Didn't have chips so used crushed butter crackers mixed w/shredded cheddar cheese for topping. Hubby and 2 yrs old liked it - so will be making again. To me, it tasted like tuna noodle casserole. :)

Applesauce Pork Loin

Very good. Applesauce (home made), mustard and honey compliment the pork nicely. Next time will slice open roast and add a layer of sauce mix and rosemary inside, then tie closed before cooking. Used a 1.5lb roast and it took 1.5 to 2 hrs to cook.

Classic Macaroni Salad

Needed something for an easy side dish from things i had on hand. This worked well. Made 1/2 batch and it still made a lot! Did cut back on the sugar and skipped the celery and pimento. Used a red bell pepper, sliced carrots, onion, and diced cheddar cheese. Tasted even better the next day. Will make a day ahead if i can next time.

Triple Berry Crisp

yummy!! i did make mine a little differently than written. I halved the crumble recipe, and topped my fresh berry mixture with the crumble. I did not have a bottom crust, only berries. I also added a bit of vanilla to the crumble. Very tasty crumb topping that compliments the berry mixture very nicely. Will definitely make again and again and will try different fruits too.

Chicken Pot Pie III

I tweaked the recipe a bit. Used 2 full cans of soup, added mushrooms, added chopped uncooked potato, and i added the mixed veggies still frozen. I used leftover store bought rotisserie chicken. turned out very good. The Husband wasn't too sure about it to begin with but he had a second helping and said i should make it again. :)

Baked French Toast

I have never had baked french toast before, so i thought i would try it. This tasted more like bread pudding than french toast. That said, my hubby liked it. I thought it was more work than french toast, for something that tasted like and was the consistency o fbread pudding. After reading other reviews i did cut the liquid in half, even then it was mushy. Sorry, but won't be making this again. I will stick with original french toast.

Reuben Soup

I've had Reuben soup in a restaurant before, but this doesn't compare. It tastes like sauerkraut and corned beef in a creamyish base. Not worth the work and won't be making again.

Chicken Souvlaki Gyro Style

Very tasty. Marinated chicken breast strips for about 6 hours - gave them good flavor. Cucumber sauce very good as well. Tastes a bit different than what you get at a restaurant, but still yummy and i'm sure healthier too. :) Will definitely make again.

Easy Lemon Cookies

Had high hopes for these as i love lemon. Wasn't very lemony tasting even with some lemon zest added. Sorry, but next time i will stick with my lemon bars.
