Fried Pork Chop

Reviewed: Jun. 21, 2012
I've always baked pork chops, so this was new for me to fry it. The coating was tasty, but didn't stick and wound up in the pan. The other reviewers added more spices to their mixture, and some did a flour coat, egg dip, flour coat. That seems to be the most favorable. I'll try one more time, and , if I don't get it to stick better, it's back to baking for me!

Ricotta Cake

Reviewed: May 28, 2012
Made it for a party yesterday...it was nice, moist, but nothing as great as the other reviewers seemed to think. I think, if I make it again, I would add a flavoring to the ricotta mixture, other than vanilla, perhaps some Sambuca or almond extracts...just to jazz it up!

Roasted Garlic

Reviewed: May 26, 2012
I cut off the top third, drizzled the olice oil, and added some freshly ground pepper and salt. I did it in my toaster oven, for 50 minutes at 400 degrees. The house smelled amazing! (and I didn't have to heat up the whole kitchen). I put the leftover head in a ziplock and microwaved it 2 days later, to add to some butter for crab! Excellent, and so cheap to do.... local restaurants make such a deal when they give you a roasted head of garlic with bread for dinner....who knew it was this simple?

Sloppy Joe Sandwiches

Reviewed: Mar. 29, 2009
I added a chopped onion when browning the meat, used a lower sugar ketchup to drop the carbs, and added a little chopped red, yellow and green pepper that was left over from an omlette. It was very good! and easy, and I will make this over and over as a quick inexpensive dinner.

Glazed Corned Beef

Reviewed: Mar. 29, 2009
It was like a candy coating on meat.... Maybe the corned beef shrunk too much, or wasn't a big enough piece to start with, but there was waayyy to much glaze and it formed a candy coating. I'll try it again, but in a smaller quantity.

Shrimp, Clams, and Scallops Pasta

Reviewed: Mar. 29, 2009
This was good, but I will change a few things the next time.... I'll add less red pepper flakes, more shrimp, and try canned clams. Otherwise, it was pretty easy and a big hit on a Friday in Lent! I did use Dreamfields, a low carb pasta, and no one noticed!
