Oven Roasted Red Potatoes

Reviewed: May 18, 2008
There wasn't much flavor. The temperature was too high and the onions burnt. From now on, I'll keep the onion soup mix in the meatloaf where it belongs.

Peanut Butter Cup Grilled Sandwich

Reviewed: May 18, 2008
I used Alpine whole grain bread, all natural peanut butter, and 1 bittersweet chocolate square. I spinkled confectioner's sugar ontop. Because my peanut butter wasn't sweetened a teaspoon of powder sugar should have been added to it, which I will do next time. Mini marshmallows would be a great addition instead of the confectioner's sugar.

Peanut Butter Popcorn

Reviewed: May 17, 2008
I added natural peanut butter, and non hydrodgenated margarine. I also popped my own popcorn. I put all of the ingredients in the microwave at once. When everything was melted I poured in the popcorn. I would definitely make it again.

Adrienne's Cucumber Salad

Reviewed: May 16, 2008
I did as others suggested, only I doubled it. 1 cup vinegar, 1/2 cup sugar, 1/2 water and a pinch of salt. I stuck with 1 cucumber. I added a few pieces of red onion. I didn't have dill. The cucumbers are a little sweet on their own, but I think they would be great on a sandwich, especially tuna! I will try it soon.

Unbelievable Chicken

Reviewed: May 11, 2008
The only thing I did differently was cooking the chicken in a skillet instead of on the BBQ. I also only marinated the chicken for an hour. It still tasted great. My husband wasn't as into it as I was. I'd definitely make it again, only marinating it over night the next time.

Rolled Buttercream Fondant

Reviewed: May 10, 2008
I'm giving the recipe 5 stars because I felt like the recipe came out wonderfully. I ended up adding about a pound more confectioner's sugar. Shortening is so bad for us, so I substituted non hydrogenated margarine. I still got the oiliness that everyone talked about, which is why I added in more confectioner's sugar. The 1up mushrooms are fondant. I made them a little over a week before finishing the cake so they would dry and be handle-able. I made my own frosting (non hydrogenated margarine, confectioner's sugar, and a splash of vanilla.), I piped it on with a plastic sandwich bag. This was my first time using fondant, or even seeing it in person. It was like polymer clay, so I had no trouble making the mushrooms. I piped "Happy Mother's Day" on top and and on the side, "and Father's Day". I had some problems with cracking, which is from too much confectioner's sugar. I also had problems picking up the fondant once it was rolled out. Rolling it out on plastic wrap helped a lot, although I got creases from it. Overall the cake looks pretty darn good!

Kettle Corn

Reviewed: May 9, 2008
The popcorn turned out good, but where's the salt? Not to worry, I added my own. Just sprinkled some right on top. I've got enough Kettle Corn to last me a week! Thanks for the recipe.

Restaurant-Style Buffalo Chicken Wings

Reviewed: May 2, 2008
I chose to use skinless, boneless chicken breasts. I also fried the chicken in peanut oil. I thought the recipe was great and easy too.

Best Lemonade Ever

Reviewed: Apr. 19, 2008
The first time I made it, I used fresh squeezed lemons. It was wonderful! The second time my husband suggested using bottled lemon juice. Awful! It tasted like Lysol! :P I'm going to wait until I can get fresh lemons. I will make this lemonade again! :)

Jay's Signature Pizza Crust

Reviewed: Apr. 13, 2008
I used whole wheat flour, and brushed the crust with garlic butter before taking the pizza out of the oven. Next time we'll choose different toppings. I made stuffed crust, and my husband didn't like how thick the crust was, but that's his problem. I thought it was pretty good!

Walnut Chocolate Burritos

Reviewed: Apr. 13, 2008
Very yummy! I took the advice of another, and added mini marshmallows. It was kinda like a s'mores but without the grahm crackers and in a tortilla. My husband had the orginal, without marshmallows, and he liked it. He wants more! I forgot the cinnamon.. So I'll have to make these again! :D

Baked Potato Soup I

Reviewed: Apr. 13, 2008
I made the recipe for 2 servings. (My husband doesn't like mashed potatoes.) I used 5 Fingerling potatoes, low fat sour cream, 1% milk, and non hydrogenated margarine. I also took advice from another review and added garlic powder. I didn't have any bacon, so I used bacon bits. I didn't cook the potatoes ahead of time. Instead I followed the directions without cooking them. I cut the potatoes in half then cut them in 1/2 inch pieces. They softened, but not enough to break up and become mashed. I also added more sour cream, and used Cougar Gold Cheese, it's a very sharp cheese you can buy online. The flavor was great! I gave this recipe 4 stars because without adding your own flavoring, it's bland.

Sweet Dinner Rolls

Reviewed: Apr. 8, 2008
Very yummy! I added 1-1/2 cups of mozzerella cheese, and 1 tablespoon of dried onions. I made round rolls as well as crescent rolls. I put them in for 12 minutes, and they turned out darker than I hoped. I took them out 2 minutes before the time was up. So make sure you keep an eye on them. Other than the color, they are soft, chewy, and delicious! I will make these again.

Old-Fashioned Vanilla Pudding

Reviewed: Apr. 8, 2008
I followed the recipe exactly. I tried the pudding while it was still warm. It was all right. It was late, so I let the pudding set over night. This morning it was lumpy and runny. Last night it was thick without any lumps. I have no idea what happened. I also didn't like the taste. It tasted like eggs. I won't be making this recipe again.

Mom's Zucchini Bread

Reviewed: Apr. 7, 2008
I remember when my babysitter made a Zucchini bread. I loved it! It was the only time I ever had it, but it left a lasting impression. This recipe was great! Just as I remembered! My hubby never had Zucchini bread before, and he ate most of it! We'll be making it again! :D

Ginger Steak

It was okay. Maybe if it were to marinade for a couple of days it would have been better.

Best Big, Fat, Chewy Chocolate Chip Cookie

Reviewed: Mar. 31, 2008
I always use whole wheat flour. I had all but about 2 1/2 tablespoons of brown sugar. I used white sugar to fill what was missing of the brown sugar. Then I added the 1/2 cup of white sugar as the recipe asks for. I always use non hydrodgenated margarine in my recipes. I only had about 1/2 a cup of mini chocolate chips. I had 4 squares of semisweet Baker's chocolate. I rough chopped them, and threw them in. I'll have to remember what I did with the sugar, and the chocolate for next time. It's too good to change!

Cream Cheese Pound Cake II

Reviewed: Mar. 30, 2008
I cut the recipe down to 9 instead of 12. I only had 3/4 of a package of cream cheese. I used whole wheat flour instead of all-purpose. I baked the pound cake 8 minutes longer than suggested in the recipe. I didn't have a bundt pan, so I used a spring form pan. I cut half of it into pieces, and after reading that the cake freezes well, I placed the rest of it in the freezer. We'll see how it is later on. This was my first time making a pound cake, and it turned out great!

Sue's Taco Salad

Reviewed: Mar. 26, 2008
I used Doritos nacho flavor chips, and lime and salsa flavored chips. I used light marble cheddar cheese. This meal went over very well. I added too much Ranch to mine, but my husband loved his dinner, and had seconds.

Very easy to make, and they were delicious! We had family over, and when they left they took some with them. I will make these again!
