Easy Pizza Sauce I

Reviewed: Oct. 1, 2010
This is a very good pizza sauce recipe. It's not over bearing on the pizza or spicy for those of us who just can't eat spicy. I use 1 batch on an extra large pizza. 1/2 to 3/4 a batch on a reg large pizza, etc. everyone raves about my pizzas!

Brooke's Best Bombshell Brownies

Reviewed: Sep. 20, 2010
I tried this recipe about 3 times now, and each time it comes out the same. Personally I find these brownies to be salty and too dry. My husband doesn't mind them though, but I am going to keep looking for a better recipe.

Chai Tea Mix

Reviewed: Sep. 10, 2010
This is my husband's favorite drink for work. He takes 2 full thermoses each day. We don't use instant tea, so I make green tea and add this mixture to make his Chai tea. He likes his chai very spicy so I use 3 tsp of ginger, 3 tsps of cinnamon, 2 tsp of ground cloves, 2 tsp of cardamon and 1 tsp of ground allspice. Per 1 thermos (or 3 cups of green tea), I mix in nearly 1/2 cup of chai mix and mix in a small blender till a little frothy. He loves it!

Hot Spiced Cider

Reviewed: Sep. 9, 2010
We put apple juice in a slow cooker, added mulling spice, then added these ingredients tied in a coffee filter. It came out incredible even though we didn't have any oranges on hand.

Orange Dream Cake

Reviewed: Jan. 7, 2010
Delicious! I creamed the margarine & sugar (we use splenda) for 3 - 4 min before adding the orange juice and zest. This made the cake extremely creamy. we didn't have any fresh lemons, so I used 3/4 cup of freshly juiced navel oranges with 2 tsp pulp/zest, and added only 2 tsp lemon juice. This recipe is high in citris so you may have a rising problem. If you do, you may want to use baking soda instead of baking powder to help rise better with the high amount of citris. Also make sure the cake pans are exactly in the center of your oven. Hint on preparing the cake pans. Spray the pans good with a cooking spray (like pam), then flour. I always spray the tops of my pans just in case I get a little overflow. Cakes come out of the pans wonderfully! I didn't use the frosting as my family are diabetics, so I used my diabetic butter-cream frosting isntead. I also added a layer of fresh manderin orange slices with some frosting between the cake halves. Simply wonderful!

Orange Bundt Cake

Reviewed: Oct. 31, 2009
This was great, and I was so pleased to find a small 6-serving bundt cake... Most of my family is diabetic so sweets & large portions do not work. I used splenda instead of sugar and 100 ml of liquid egg whites instead of the 2 eggs. For the glaze, I used my diabetic powdered sugar instead of confectioners sugar. Everyone loved it.

Applesauce Oatie Cookies

Reviewed: Mar. 6, 2009
These are the best apple cookies. I scrapped my old recipe and took this one over. My 5 year old saw applesauce cookies on one of her shows and asked me to make some. she doesn't eat anything, but these she loves with no added raisins, nuts or chocolate chips. Just straight applesauce cookies & they're great. Some variations I've used include a simple nut & raisin mix you can get anywhere. Be creative with those last 3 ingredients... Enjoy!

Classic Strawberry Shortcakes

Reviewed: Feb. 8, 2009
This was a really easy and delicious shortcake. Nothing trick but quick. just don't overbake the buiscuit dough. I baked the biscuits in muffin tins and they came out perfectly round. I baked for exactly 11 min, and the insides were just slightly soft, perfect & moist. The top did crumble a bit when I sliced them warm, but once the berries & cream were added, you couldn't tell the difference, although I did try these without slicing, still very good. To enhance the flavouring of the strawberries, add as much as 1/4 cup of lemon juice with 1/2 cup of sugar (or splenda) to the strawberries, mix well and allow to sit for as long as possible (10 min or up to a couple of hours). Really good...

Bunny Cookies

Reviewed: Mar. 12, 2008
Has anyone tried doing this recipe in 1/2 only? I tried it, only needed a 24 or 36 batch of cookies, but I got very bad results... the dough was very crumbly and rolled out like a pastry dough. After cooked, it was a little tough (ok with a hot drink), and you couldn't taste much flavour. I do like the idea of this recipe as an Easter Cookie... We get a little tired of the standard sugar cookies right after christmas.

Apple Pie by Grandma Ople

Reviewed: Jan. 8, 2008
Now I hate apple pie. I've always found apple pie to be too runny, too rubbery, too tart or too dry. I can't even eat straight apples becuase of the acid content. This recipe is the best for apple pie. I tried it only because any recipe with soo many rave reviews has to be worth a try. I did make the few adjustments recommended by other reviewers such as adding a touch of cinnamon and nutmeg. And I did mix the apple with the sauce prior to putting on the pie. It was delicious. Now I can finally enjoy an apple pie...

Original Irish Cream

Reviewed: Dec. 27, 2007
This is a very good base recipe, but for those who have trouble with the sweetness (like my family), cut the chocolate syrup in 1/2 and use about 1/4 less condensed milk. you can increase the cream (we used half and half) to compensate for the less condensed milk. We also found it way too strong, so we reduced the wiskey to 1/2 or 1/3 cup. I also recommend using the blender to ensure all ingredients are mixed well.

Almost Heaven Peanut Butter Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 26, 2007
the pie crust mix makes this cookie way too bland and tasteless. remove it from the ingredient list, as well as the water, and add an egg. and you have a nice healthy cookie. You can even refrigerate the dough for a spell, to make it easier to ball.

Flourless Peanut Butter Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 26, 2007
these cookies are very sweete, with the cup of sugar in it, it was like eating candy. try only 1/2 cup of sugar or splenda, then you have a very nice cookie snack that remains healthy.

Yule Log

Reviewed: Dec. 6, 2007
This is the most delicous yule log we've ever had. It's not very sweet, the filling is very creamy & absolutely fantastic with the nuts. little hint though, once the cake comes out of the oven, lay the cake on a towel dusted with icing sugar then pre-roll the cake and let cool completely before unrolling it and adding the filling.
