About this Cook
I am married to a man who loves to eat!!! I work as a credit analyst during the day and work at a Pizza place every Sunday night. I have 3 dogs and 1 cat. I love the rock band Styx and have seen them 38 times.
My favorite things to cook
I love to cook mexican food as it is a part of my heritage. But I also love to try things that are very different from what I was raised on. I also love baking and creating new goodies. I make treats for my kids at Pizza Shoppe every sunday.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Christmas morning is special when we have tamales we all made together. We also fix a big ham, eggs, hash browns, biscuits and orange juice. While we wait for breakfast to cook and warm the tamales, we enjoy mexican bread and mexican hot chocolate. Every year!!!
My cooking triumphs
My yearly diiner parties with all courses!! This year we started with my brushetta pizza, Chicken Poblano Soup, Chopped Salad, then Kiwi sorbet to cleanse the palate. Beef served with port mushrooms, chili ancho sauce, or red onion jam. Curried Chili Salmon, twice baked potatoes, creammy corn, pea salad, homemade rolls, and chocolate cobbler for dessert.
My cooking tragedies
This first time I tried to make orange beef, it was gross, I ran to my bedroom and cried of embarrassment. We ordered out Pizza. Then my mississippi mud cake tasted like soap. Dish soap had absorbed into the wooden spoon I was using to stir the frosting.... yuk... They asked me the next time I baked if I was making Sopapillas...hahaha
