Flourless Chocolate Cake I

Fantastic - we substituted espresso for the water and used 72% dark Belgian chocolate - it was amazing! The texture was exactly like a truffle. We also had more people show up than expected, and had to cut this one cake into 24 pieces - but it was so rich, it was still plenty! Now I want to make it in a square pan, cut into bite size squares and top each with a choc. covered espresso bean - this would make a great addition to a dessert table.

Butterscotch Sauce II

The recipe "as is" is good, but you notice sweet first and taste second (not ideal). I added another Tbsp of butter (total of 1/4 cup) and a dash more of milk, and 1/2 tsp of vanilla - the flavor was so much better and more rich (less pure sugar taste). We really enjoyed this recipe with those tweaks. On another note, DON'T let it boil - the texture becomes grainy (I unwisely thought I could do dishes AND stir occasionaly... but out of sight, out of mind. The flavor was still great, though, and we'll make this again) Thank for the recipe :)

Warm Flourless Chocolate Cake with Caramel Sauce

Amazing! I decorated this with powdered sugar sprinkled through a stencil - it looked really pretty and thrilled my chocolate (not caramel) loving husband :) And our gluten-intolerant friend pretty much salivated over it (it's been a while since he's had good gf desserts). I will make this a dessert staple in our home.

Oatmeal Pancakes

These pancakes were really delightful. I used wheat flour instead of all-purpose, and they still turned out great. We ate them with butter and preserves - yum. My husband (who doesn't really like pancakes) asked me to make these again before we were even finished with the meal :D *After many months of enjoying these, I think the best feature is how tasty they are without being sweet, which is my husband's complaint with most other pancakes...
