I followed this recipe as is, and I absolutely loved the muffins. I made it before by following all the advice in the reviews but didn't enjoy that batch as much. Stick to the original recipe!

Carrot Cake III

I've made this carrot cake twice now. The first time I made it as a sheet cake, and the second time as cupcakes. The sheet broke in half, and I just assumed that was my lack of baking skills; however, when the cupacake broke apart, I knew something else is wrong (maybe the oven?). I still gave it 5 stars b/c it is a tasty carrot cake. The frosting also adds a rich sweet taste.

Savory Turkey Gravy

I never made gravy and was assigned to make this for a potluck. I didn't have turkey stock, so I used chicken stock. I'm sure the flavor was a little different, but this came together pretty nicely considering the substitute.

These didn't come out like I expected. They weren't crispy. Instead, they were burned on the bottom and soggy on top. :( I don't think I'll be trying this again.

Szechuan Beef

I didn't follow the recipe exactly because everyone said it was a little bland. I increased the crushed red pepper and garlic by one 1 teaspoon and 2 cloves. I had issues with the beef strips not getting cooked in the alotted time. For some reason, that just didn't work for me even though I marinated it for 3 hours instead of the recommended 20 min.

Strawberry Whipped Sensation

Delicious recipe and easy to make. This was a hit with my family. I gave it 4 stars because you need a larger tub of Cool Whip than the 8 oz. I used nearly 2 tubs for this b/c one tub wasn't enough for the middle and to cover it up.

Lamb Stew with Green Beans

My kids loved this because it was bland. My husband not so much. We eat mostly Indian food so this didn't have that kick we usually like. I added cauliflower and used frozen green beans. I didn't have mint and celery so I had to skip those ingredients.

Peanut Butter Chip Chocolate Cookies

This was very easy to make, and the results were delicious. When I teaspooned the cookies on to the baking sheet they didn't come out looking too nice. I made balls from the dough for the next batch, and they looked and tasted great.

Orange Almond Biscotti II

The dough is really gooey. It's easier to just shape it on the cooking sheet. Spread it like PB. I ended up waiting on one log and the dough wasn't as sticky anymore. Use only one log per baking sheet because the dough spreads a lot. Bake only the minimum time listed so it doesn't become too hard by the next day.

Bread Pudding II

I didn't care for the buttery taste. I might mix it up with the egg/milk mixture instead of drizzling it on top. I added almonds with the raisins. My son loved it.
