Debdoozie's Blue Ribbon Chili
This is easy, tasty chili. I've made it three times now.
I used the same ingredients just more of everything. A whole onion, 2 cans of light and 2 cans of dark kidney beans, 15oz jar of salsa, 28oz can of crushed tomatoes (instead of sause), real garlic, two packages of chili seasoning (1 mild, 1 hot). The extra salsa and extra crushed tomatoes made it a little soupier than I would have liked so next time I will hold back a little on both.
The only thing I did differently was I sauteed the onions, then added the garlic, then put in the meat and the chili seasoning so the meat could cook with the spices. Then added everything else in and let it simmer. I've tried it with ground beef and ground turkey. Both were good, however I like the beef better.
It was a little sweet and I'm not sure where the sweetness is coming from. I like a different tasting chili, but because this recipe is fast and easy it ends up winning.
