Brown Sugar Chops

Reviewed: Jan. 12, 2008
I made this for the first time the other night, served it alongside a rice side dish and seasoned green beans. We thought they were really good, my husband guessed there was honey at first, and once I told him it was brown sugar, he as pleasantly surprised. Nothing I would have changed about this recipe. Let the pork sit for a few minutes after pulling out of the oven and the sauce will thicken. Great to serve with rice so you can soak up this wonderful, sweet sauce!

Cajun Style Baked Sweet Potato

Reviewed: Jan. 8, 2008
This recipe turned out exactly how it looks in the picture. My husband and I are trying to eat more sweet potato but wanted to find a different way to make them. We loved the way it made our kitchen smell as it baked. The only reason I gave this a 3 was because it turned out a little too soft, but I think next time I'll just cut them into smaller strips (think french fries) and also add a little seasoned salt or something, it needed a little something but we couldnt figure out what. We had these with the Jalapeno-Lime Marinated chicken also off this site and I do recommend. We dipped the wedges in a zingy Asian sweet sauce.

Sausage Party Melts

Reviewed: Dec. 23, 2007
We tried this recipe for the first time today, I would have given it a full 5 but my hubby didn't agree, he gave it a 3 or 4...said his main complaint was that it was too salty and a tad too spicy for him. (However, I used HOT sausage...because I LOVE spicy food, so that is my fault, not the recipe's fault) I will definately make this one again for our next party!

Blue Cheese Chicken Wing Dip

Reviewed: Dec. 23, 2007
We had this dip tonight for the first time. First off, yes...it is very runny. However it is tasty! I cooked 5 chicken breasts and cut them up into very small bits, one bottle of wing sauce and one bottle of blue cheese dressing. I only used about 3 tablespoons of butter instead of the entire 6 as the recipe says...next time will not use any as I dont see why it was necessary. We dipped celery sticks and tortilla chips in it and in my husband's opninion the celery sticks were best with this dip, he said he liked the "crunchiness it added" and that they helped "neutralize the spiciness" I love very spicy anything, so I liked both. We only gave a 3 star because it was runny but good, however not a "stand out dip" as my husband would put it. I think I may make it again though and play with the ingredients more.

Hot Bean Dip

Reviewed: Dec. 21, 2007
I made a small batch of this dip today to try out before hosting a dinner party in a few days. My husband and I both really liked this dip...I asked him to rate it on a scale of 1 to 10, 10 being the best...he said an 8. Only thing we'd change about it is possibly add more hot sauce to make it more spicy. We will be having this at our next party for sure.

Bread Bowl Fondue

Reviewed: Nov. 26, 2007
This recipe went over very well at my husband's birthday party recently. I had a variety of dips & appetizers and overall, this is was everyone's favorite. We all liked that it was a little different than your normal dip and all the ingredients were easy to come by and was so easy to make. I will definately be making this one again for a couple upcoming holiday parties. Very good!!

Zucchini Souffle

Reviewed: Nov. 26, 2007
I did not care for this. I made it for a family dinner, hoping it would turn out like one of our favorite restaraunts and it didnt. It had little to no flavor and mostly tasted of eggs. I followed this recipe exactly as it's stated here...this is definately something we wont be making again!

Red Wine Flavored Beef

Reviewed: Nov. 26, 2007
I made this on a lazy Saturday and then took it to my dad's for a good hearty lunch for he and my husband as they did some outdoor work. Both thought it was pretty good. I thought it was decent. I loved the way it made our house smell especially! It seemed to be lacking something but we couldnt figure out what. I dont know if I'll make this again, it was just ok.

Cream Cheese Squares

Reviewed: Nov. 26, 2007
This was the first time making these. I felt I must try them out after seeing how easy the recipe was and all the fantastic reviews it's received. And for the most part I do agree, they were good! I took them to a dinner at some friends' house...we all thought they were much better cooled than warm. By the end of the night, I took home an empty pan.

Honey Mustard Grilled Chicken

Reviewed: Nov. 26, 2007
I marinated the chicken in this for several hours while at work and then threw it on the grill (low heat so not to burn the chicken) I made an additional batch of the honey mustard sauce to dip it in. Overall, my husband and myself thought it was pretty good and would make it again in the future.

Pizza Dip

Reviewed: Nov. 26, 2007
I rated this a 4 star and not a 5 star because my husband and myself werent overly impressed by this recipe, it was just ok to us. However, I made it for my husband's birthday and all of my guests all loved it and commented on how unique and good it was. My sis in law even called the next day to get the reciepe and made it for her church group the following night. She said the dip was completely gone with in the first few minutes that people arrived. I will probably make this again.

Blue Cheese, Sweet Pecan, and Cranberry Spread

Reviewed: Nov. 26, 2007
I made this as an appetizer for Thanksgiving with my family. Everyone tried a bite but the overwhelming response was that noone liked it at all. Although everyone in my family does like blue cheese, it just didnt tast right and certainly didnt look appetizing when the candied nuts I had used...to add a little extra sweetness...started to change the dip to an awful brownish looking color. Overall, not good. We'll not make this again.
