Woke up at 8:30 this morning. Rolled over to see that my spouses side of the bed was empty. As I started to fall back to sleep. I heard him come in to the room. I peaked through my eyes to see him opening the curtains about the same time I smelled toast. To my amazement, he had made me… MORE

About this Cook
I am over 45 but every one thinks I am in my early 30's. My husband of 26 years is my best friend and when I am not working, I love spending time with him. I just finished my bachelor's degree and am now happy to spend time researching new recipes to feed him. Happy new year!
My favorite things to cook
Banana bread. Its the easiest thing to make with my kitchen aid mixer. Next, I like to make comfort foods, stews and sauces that make the house smell good.
My favorite family cooking traditions
On Thanksgving, my husband and I make the whole deal. The night before I make a couple of pumpkin pies. We bake a turkey, stuffing, gravy, mashed potatos, green bean cassorole for the two of us. We invite friends and have a great time.
My cooking triumphs
I made beef stew one night from a recipe I found on Allrecipes.com and my husband came into the kitchen and tasted it and started to cry. I said, "oh is it that bad." He said, "no its that good, it taste just like Nana's."
My cooking tragedies
One night my husband asked me to make pancakes for supper. After I made the pancakes, I realized that they didn't seem to fluff up. My husband started eating them and just looked at me between bites. I tasted one and pushed my plate back. They tasted like rubber bands, it seems the baking powder had expired and that was why there was no fluff. He ate all the pancakes on his plate and has since taken over making pancakes for the household.

Carrot Cake III
I followed all the advice and made the suggested changes. I loved the frosting, my husband suggested some shredded carrots on the top and maybe add a cup of raisens and more carrot to the recipe. I must admit, he ate it almost entirely before he made the suggestions. Thanks!
