Crazy Cake

I was afraid that it would be bland since it was advertized as a cake without a normal ingredient found in cakes....This cake was soooo good! Much better than the last cake we tried off of this site. Moist and Dense!

Tasty Lentil Tacos

Liked this a lot! Really easy and good. My onion was bad so I ended up using dried minced onion..a bunch but not a cup, and cooked the lentils about 15 minutes longer than it said since they weren't mushy yet and used veggie broth to make it vegetarian. My meat eating husband loved them...I was a little anxious about howt hey would turn out and was pleasantly surprised. I made guacamole to add to the tacos. Definately keeping this recipe! Thanks!

Brownie Chocolate Chip Cheesecake

So we made this to take to a friends house. We cooked it as directed, stuck it in the fridge and then tried it about 4 hours later to make sure it wasn't awful...it was. It was gross gross gross. The cheesecake was a weird texture and too watery. We ended up bringing ice cream instead. The next night I tried it again and it was great!... I guess it has to sit for quite a while in the fridge, so if yours turns out watery and awful, give it a second chance before you throw it out! I used a 9X13 pan and the brownies came out a little bit too thin and a tiny bit burnt, if I make it again I am going to either use more brownie mix or a smaller pan. Make sure you take the advice of other users and make the chocolate sauce.

Addictive Sweet Potato Burritos

This was very yummy and different. I was pleasenty suprised that I liked it so much. I agree with others that it is hard to mush the beans after they go into the pan, I ended up dumping the beans, onion and all into the food processor to mush. The sweetness of the sweet potato went great with the tangyness of sour cream. This is definately going into my go-to-dinners cookbook. I wanted to use blackbeans instead of kidney beans but didn't buy enough, so I used a mix. It turned out great.

Tofu and Veggies in Peanut Sauce

I originally gave this 4 stars because I didn't like how the tofu turned out. After freezing and thawing the tofu, on the other hand, the tofu is much better and meatier. I have to switch my rating to 5 stars because I gave it 4 stars 2 years ago and since then I make this recipe ALL the time and love it...so I think it deserves 5. I make it with whatever vegies I have on hand though, which usually ends up just being broccoli. Freezing the tofu first is a must though.

Pizza Dough I

We have been making this dough for over a year and love how easy it is. The dough is VERY thick though, so in order for it to not turn into a loaf of bread with some toppings, you have to roll it really really thin. We have started cutting the yeast in half though which seems to make it into regular pizza dough that isn't quite as thick.

Vegetarian Chili

This is absolutely delicious just the way it is. I don't like that much heat so it is just spicy enough for me, if you are used to heat you might want to adjust the spices. I am a vegetarian and my husband isn't and he usually complains about recipes without meat but raves about this one. He has told everyone who will listen about how great my chili is. The only change that I made is that I cook it for about an hour. I find that it isn't quite done at 30 minutes. This is so easy and good.
