The Best Chicken Soup Ever

Reviewed: Jan. 5, 2009
I made this a couple of days ago, after having dealt with a miserable cold all week, and it was a perfect, healthy and delicious soup. I made no real changes to the recipe, just made it as the recipe stated. Everyone loved it, and I have to agree, its the best chicken soup I've ever made. I will be making this one again!

Apricot Pork Chops

Reviewed: Jan. 5, 2009
This recipe made a great base, but it needed perking up for a little more flavor. I seasoned the chops with salt, pepper and garlic powder first. Then I browned the chops in olive oil, adding a diced onion, and half a finely diced green bell pepper. To the sauce mixture, I added a liberal squeeze of fresh lemon juice, and a little white wine. After adding the mixture to the chops, I baked as directed. And it was absolutely delicious served with rice and steamed broccoli.

Yummy Pork Chops

Reviewed: Oct. 9, 2008
This was so salty, it was almost inedible. The reason I gave it three stars instead of one is that I could sort of tell that underneath all of the overpoweing saltiness there was a promising flavor combination. I added a chopped onion and browned the chops before adding the dressing/soy sauce, but really, the prevalent flavor here is salt.

Perfect Pumpkin Pie

Reviewed: Oct. 19, 2007
This is the pumpkin pie recipe I've been making for years. I occasionally try others, just for the fun of it, but this tried and true recipe is always a hit. A dollop of whipped cream on top and you are in good shape. :-)

Ronaldo's Beef Carnitas

Reviewed: Oct. 18, 2007
This is an excellent recipe. I used a two pound top sirloin roast, trimmed the visible fat, and seasoned with the same amount of seasoning as called for if using a 4 pound roast. I cooked it in a slow cooker on high for two hours, then turned it to low for about 7 more hours. I did add about 3/4 cup of beef broth and half a chopped onion for extra flavor and to keep the roast from drying out. It shredded easily, and was very tender. I served on warmed flour tortillas with shredded Monterey Jack cheese, salsa and sour cream...loved it!

Grandma Johnson's Scones

Reviewed: Oct. 16, 2007
Amazingly good...I was shocked that I was able to make scones that tasted this wonderful. They were melt-in-your-mouth delicious! This recipe deserves every single 5-star rating its received. I made them plain, and went directly by the recipe as given, and served them with strawberry jam and fresh whipped cream...unbelievably good. I will make these often, without a doubt!
