I have recently discovered the Fairytale pumpkin. I feel I have sheltered myself from the world of squash/pumpkins because of my own ignorance.
This particular pumpkin has a beautiful orange flesh, almost a shame to cook and eat it. I am sharing this gorgeous squash with anyone of my friends who are interested.
The other night I cooked a pork, apple, potatoe and pumpkin stew. I used apple juice as the liquid. My husband said this is a "fall" meal. That comment made me feel warm inside, felt good to serve my family a hearty healthy meal.
As I get older I find myself becoming more daring in my cooking adventures. My family is very vocal as to which recipes they like and dislike.
Like most mom's I get tired of cooking the same old recipes, I desire to explore and try new recipes.
I could go on about some of the awful food I have served my family, but I find that I am no different than most mom's who try to sneak in a new recipe.
So my adventure with All Recipes has begun. Wonder what is for dinner tonight. I am off to surf the endless possibilities.
