About this Cook
I learned how to bake at a young age due to the fact my mother would make all these tasty treats - and then take them to school for the teacher's lounge. I was so envious of the snacks that they got, that I decided to make my own.
My favorite things to cook
Desserts, specifically any dessert with chocolate somewhere in the recipe. Love to create recipes with fresh veggies and love to try other new recipes found all over. Particularly fond of Mediterranean and Italian foods and anything with cheese in it.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Comfort food. My parents were experts at the comfort food creation and my husband is also very talented with the catagory. He likes the southern foods and makes an excellent Gumbo as well as awesome Brunswick Stew.
My cooking triumphs
I just tried making the rainbow cookies recipe from this site and they turned out marvelous. They were a lot of work, but worth it in the end.
My cooking tragedies
My first three attempts at meatloaf when trying to create my own version. We're still having flashbacks. I finally broke down and tried the lipton soup meatloaf recipe... success!

Rainbow Cookies
Incredible cookies which are well worth the extra work. I really wished that I had read the comments before making these because there are a bunch of really helpful hints that I am going to try next time.

Buckeyes II
Made these the first time this Christmas and had trouble keeping them around long. My family started hoarding them. There is a little bit of a trick trying to coat them in the chocolate and not having them fall off the fork/toothpick/ chopstick - but well worth the effort.
