I didn't have the capers and so went w/o; will try them w/ next time. DH and I really liked it. Very unique flavor.

Zippy Ground Beef Skillet

Reviewed: Mar. 12, 2008
Very good! I used more green pepper & onion than called for & added garlic. Next time I would eliminate the honey.

French Toast I

Reviewed: Feb. 23, 2008
DH & I loved it! He said it was some of the best he'd ever had. I used thinly sliced Italian bread, which I'd definitely use again.

Cheeseburger Soup II

Very tasty and filling. It has a lot more calories than we'd like, but it's nice for a treat once in a while.

Excellent!! I used Egg Beaters, Splenda, and wheat flour, and these came out light, fluffy, and very tasty.

Molasses Cookies

Perfect! Exactly what I was looking for. They end up quite crisp, but 12-15 secs. in the micro makes them nice and soft.

Tasty Green Bean Casserole

Reviewed: Mar. 28, 2008
Loved this! I don't usually care for green bean casserole, but this was great! I didn't use bacon (though it would probably be good w/), and I added a bit of Tabasco sauce.

One of DH's favorite treats at Christmas, & he loved this recipe. Will definitely be making these again.

Slow Cooker Lemon Garlic Chicken II

Reviewed: Dec. 13, 2007
We'll definitely make this again. It's so simple and very tasty! The meat was extremely tender and juicy. I used lemon pepper and white wine (Pinot Grigio) as others have. I too had to add more liquid than the recipe called for; just put in more water, lemon juice, & wine from the start.

DH & I love these! They *are* tasty with or without the frosting. I wonder if these would be good w/ lemon instead.... Anyone tried it yet?

Buttermilk Corn Bread

Reviewed: Oct. 24, 2007
I used Polenta cornmeal & baked it in a muffin tin (6 large) at 375 degs. for about 18 mins. DH & I loved it! It isn't sweet at all, though, so if you like it sweet you'll have to add sugar. (As a beginner, I also loved this recipe b/c it was so quick and easy.)

Banana Banana Bread

Reviewed: Oct. 18, 2007
I've made muffins with this recipe countless times, and DH and I both love it. I add vanilla, nutmeg, and cinnamon, as others also suggest. The muffins come out heavy, moist, and flavorful.

Onion Meat Loaf

Reviewed: Oct. 18, 2007
This is a favorite at our house. I add worcestershire sauce and hot sauce, along with lots of dried leaf oregano and freshly ground pepper. I make mine in a bread pan and bake at 375 degs. for about 40 mins.

Vietnamese Rice-Noodle Salad

Reviewed: Oct. 30, 2007
Very tasty! I opted out of using the fish sauce, and just added a bit more salt. DH also put some hot sauce on his. We decided to eat it w/ chicken, so I skillet-cooked bits of boneless, skinless chicken breast sprinkled w/ salt, pepper, and a generous amount of rosemary.

Greek-Style Stuffed Peppers

Reviewed: Oct. 25, 2007
Definitely a recipe I'll use again! I substituted pork sausage pre-prepared w/ pizza seasonings for the ground pork & basmati rice for the plain white rice. I also added plenty of rosemary. DH used lots of salt, but I liked it just fine w/o.

Italian Roast Beef I

Reviewed: Mar. 28, 2008
Very tasty. A nice change from other relatively bland roast beef recipes. I did have a prob. w/ the cook time, however; I took the meat out 1 hr. early, & it was still *very* well done. Will have to watch it more closely next time!

I thought this was tasty, but DH just said it was "edible." I think it was too sweet for him.

Gourmet Thai Chicken Pizza

Reviewed: Dec. 13, 2007
This has a very unique flavor. I kind of liked it, but DH did not enjoy it at all. He did not find the combination of flavors at all pleasing. It takes a significant amount of time to make, so I won't be trying it again. The dough turned out well, however, so I may use that part of the recipe for a traditional pizza.
