About this Cook
I am African American 48 I love to cook, I didn't always but I do now. I love to expereiment and try new recipes. With just two people in the house it's hard to cook a lot of food, for fear it will go to waste. I sell pies and cookies all kinds of sweets people seem to love them. My Caramel Apple Pie is one of the top sellers. I have 1 son and two grandchildren. I've lived in Nebraska all my life. I love people, and have a great sense of humor =)
My favorite things to cook
I love to cook anythink on the grill. There is nothing better to me then a meat on the grill. I like chicken and beef. I also love salmon and shrimp. I love to make easy meals, and I love a challenge every now and again. I just love to cook period.
My favorite family cooking traditions
I really don't have any family traditions =(
My cooking triumphs
I've mastered the art of cooking fall off the bone ribs on the grill, and my famous Carmel Apple Pie
My cooking tragedies
I've never had any tragedies, just some hits and misses; no real tragedies =) Everything I've ever made has been edible.

Garlic Chicken with Orzo Noodles
I enjoyed this recipe last night and it was very good, I had never had orzo before and found it to be light and yummy. As suggested I cooked in in chicken broth. The whole thing was yummy. The one thing I did differntly is I browned my chicken half way so it would have color took it out of the skillet then added my garlic/onions then threw the chicken back in with the orzo. Yummo! Try it you will like it.

Grilled Flat Iron Steak with Blue Cheese-Chive Butter
I've been looking for a recipe for Flat Iron Steak, I always wanted to try it but feared it would be too tough. But I saw nothing but great reviews so I thought what the heck it sounds good. I cooked this last night and OMG the steak was sooooo tender, and the chive butter was different but I liked it very much, not a blue cheese person but it was very, very good. I will cook this again. I had the steak, rosemary roasted potatoes, salad and a nice crusty baguette. My niece if very picky but she loved the whole dinner as did I. Try this one, you won't regret it for sure. Thanks Kristin so much for this one, it's a keeper. I didn't change a thing. YUMMY! =))
