About this Cook
Love to try different recipes and always come to Allrecipes for ideas. I usually modify the recipes to suit my family's tastes.
My favorite things to cook
I LOVE to bake, and I like to cook for special occassions, but getting dinner on the table every night of the week is a chore.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My husband and I started trading off cooking, one week he cooks dinner and I make lunches and the following week we switch. Eases the monotony and hubby is becoming quite the chef.
My cooking tragedies
Too many too list here, because I like to experiment.

Creamy Au Gratin Potatoes
These potatoes are fantastic! I've made it twice, once with chopped raw onions, and once with lightly sauted onions. We really preferred the sauted onions.I put them ino the cheese sauce when it was done cooking. Not such a strong taste, but still add nice flavour. Be sure to take your time with the sauce, adding only a 1/2 cup cheese at a time, stir and make sure it is completely melted. Use only Old Cheddar, layer the potatoes, add some sauce, layer again and more sauce. That way the potatotes are coated well. My family also likes spice, so I added 1/2 tsp each paprika, pepper and nutmeg. YUMMY

Cream Cheese Frosting II
Excellent frosting!!! Exactly what I was looking for, easy to prepare. Loved it and will be using it again and again for all of my carrot, spice and pumpkin cakes.

Split Pea Soup
Boy does this recipe bring back memories. I have been making this soup for many years. However having learned how from my mother and my grandmother, they never used measurements, so now I actually have the recipe to hand down to my kids. My mother always said "soup is great if you have unexpected company, add some water and you'll always have enough". Thank you!
