Slow Cooker Guisado Verde

Reviewed: Jan. 19, 2008
Soooo good...followed advice of others and just got the verde sauce as it had the tomatillos in there with the garlic etc...I did add minced garlic on top of that also and maybe not as much liquid as mentioned. Did add more chicken broth than water. But it was sooo good. Next time, I will add some carrots, radishes and some other veggies to make it more of a soup. We had it rolled in tortillas, like an enchilada and it was excellent. This dish gets even better over the following days. Thanks for sharing.

Slow Cooker Sweet and Tangy Chicken

Reviewed: Jan. 19, 2008
Thought it was good...but could have used a bit more flavor. I did add ginger, as suggested by other readers and should have used cornstarch to thicken, but ran out of time...had hungry folks waiting. The aroma it put out was wonderful, but didn't feel like it tasted as good as it smelled. I did add carrots, onions and green pepper with the pineapple...may play around with the sauce next time? Maybe some soy sauce? Will probably make again though, so worth the time.

Hearty Turkey Soup with Parsley Dumplings

Reviewed: Jan. 19, 2008
I made this as per the instructions, however, I only had wheat bread...but the dumplings still turned out really good. I may add more to the soup next time, as I felt it needed more seasoning, but overall a good hearty recipe

Corn Dog Casserole

Reviewed: Nov. 26, 2007
For a vegetarian dish, this was really not bad...I would use real hot dogs next time. My daughter was going through a vegetarian phase and this actually worked for her. I would give it a four star, but I just can't get over the vegetarian hot dog taste. Other than that, it was a pretty good kid friendly recipe.

Brinjal With Walnut Dressing

Reviewed: Nov. 4, 2007
This was an awesome recipe! The only thing I may do differently next time is to dredge the eggplant in a cornmeal batter, to make it a bit crispy. The eggplant soaked up the oil in the pan and it was a bit mushy. However, it was still really good.. the yogurt sauce made it. I served it with brown rice and a salad.
