Fresh Southern Peach Cobbler

Reviewed: Nov. 24, 2012
I made this last night for my small Thanksgiving dinner with my children. It was crispy and delicious and eaten up! They requested another so I started making it tonight and realized I used cornstarch in my biscuit topping instead of baking powder. It is still delicious done correctly but that extra crispy topping was really awesome. Sometimes mistakes make for a good recipe also! Thanks for sharing this, it is a keeper mistakes or not!

Mom's Yeast Rolls

Reviewed: Nov. 23, 2012
The baker in me knew that there was not enough flour in these for my liking. I added around 3/4 to 1 cup of additional flour in the kitchen aid. They were still a bit sticky but flouring the hands helped. I also let them rise the third time after forming the dough into balls. They are quite lovely with a bit of tweaking.

Delicious Black Bean Burritos

Reviewed: Jul. 17, 2011
This is now a staple recipe in our home. Even my husband can make it and it is always delicious. We use a mixture of beans, usually three types and make a huge skillet at a time. We take it for lunches and have it for a snack. We have added Mexican corn to the mix, which is really good as well. Instead of the red pepper and jalepeno we drain a can of RoTel tomatoes and dump it in along with the beans.

Carrot Cake III

Reviewed: Nov. 26, 2009
This was a hit for our early Thanksgiving meal. I added 1/2 cup of drained crushed pineapple and 1/2 cup of raisins. I used three small round cake pans for a triple layer.

Russian Mushroom and Potato Soup

Reviewed: Oct. 15, 2007
I added two slices of bacon (chopped), in with the butter, carrots and leaks. Also added shredded cheddar at the end of cooking. The whole family liked this one.
