Marinated Baked Pork Chops

Reviewed: Nov. 18, 2014
Delicious! I used 3 thick boneless pork chops and took the advice of other reviewers and doubled the marinade. I used half to marinate the chops for a few hours prior to baking. I baked at 375 for 15-20 minutes per side, added a bit more marinade after I turned them and then broiled for 3 minutes at the very end. I added the last bit of marinade right before broiling. The chops turned out perfectly! My husband said he thought they were the best chops I ever made. Can't wait to make this again!

Garlic Parmesan Orzo

Reviewed: Jan. 17, 2011
This was very easy to make and tasted great! I made it according to the recipe but also added onions to the garlic and then added some frozen corn to the pan before adding the cooked orzo. I think it needed a bit more salt but other than that, great recipe!

Day-After-Thanksgiving Turkey Carcass Soup

Reviewed: Nov. 28, 2010
Great use of the leftover turkey. I followed pretty closely to the recipe except substituted corn for the peas. I also reduced the amount of rice to 1 1/2 cups and am glad I did, otherwise it would have been too thick. Oh, I also added about 3/4 cup of stuffing because I was afraid it would add a weird consistency to the soup. I'm not sure the stuffing is even needed but not bad to add it anyway. Thanks for the great recipe!

Pesto Turkey Burgers

Reviewed: Aug. 10, 2009
So yummy! I made garlic basil pesto to use for this recipe but forgot to get feta cheese. I followed the rest of the recipe exactly and it came out perfect. next time I'll be sure to use feta or maybe cheddar cheese. It seemed I did have to grill the burgers a little longer than 5 minutes each side, maybe about 8 minutes. But I used a meat thermometer to read inside meat temp until it reached about 170 degrees. This recipe is a keeper!

Turkey Bow Tie Skillet

Reviewed: Jul. 15, 2009
I thought this was a very tasty dish. I followed the recipe pretty much exactly just to see how it turned out. I liked it but I think next time I might try making it more of a casserole and cooking everything as it says in the recipe, maybe add a little more tomatoes or sauce and putting it in a casserole dish with cheese on top and bake it for 20 minutes or so.

Rosemary Ranch Chicken Kabobs

Reviewed: Jun. 29, 2009
Very tasty and easy to make. This was the first time I tried making kabobs and they turned out great. I ended up using breast tenders since that's what I had in the fridge and the timing was perfect (about 10 mins on the grill).

Marinade for Chicken

Reviewed: May 31, 2009
Very easy and tasty marinade. Definitely made enough to last a few more meals. I used it on chicken breasts that we grilled and it came out perfect. Marinated chicken for about 2 hours, next time I'll try a little longer.

Sour Cream Dressing

Reviewed: Mar. 1, 2009
I made this last night since I had a little sour cream left in the fridge and wanted to find a good use for it. I ended up using dried parsley flakes, about a tblsp mustard with horseradish, and maybe about 1/4 cup olive oil. I used it on my salad right away and it tasted really good. Then I tasted it this morning to see how the flavors have set in and it tastes even better. Will definitely keep this one for future use.

Thai Green Curry Chicken

Reviewed: Jan. 23, 2009
Excellent recipe! I had everything but the green onion and fish oil on hand so instead I used onion, red bell pepper and celery. I used maybe 1 tbls of the curry and it ended up being too much. I recently found out maple syrup can help cut spice so I used some and also added a bit more soy sauce and it ended up perfect. My husband actually said it was as good as any of the curry dishes at our fave Thai restaurant, which says a lot cuz that restaurant is amazing!

Slow-Cooker Chicken Tortilla Soup

Reviewed: Feb. 18, 2008
Fantastic! My husband loves tortilla soup and he thought this recipe was one of the best he had ever tasted. I wish it wasn't so filling because I could have eaten more! I can't wait for the leftovers. I followed the recipe pretty much as is and was happy with the way it came out. Probably could have used a little more spice but that is easily fixed for the next time I make it. Might try hominy next time instead of frozen corn.
