Brown Family's Favorite Pumpkin Pie

Reviewed: Nov. 26, 2004
This pumpkin pie was THE BEST!!! My husband is not a fan of pumpkin, but loved this pie. Even requested it for Christmas!! I made it for family thanksgiving and got rave reviews. Everyone said the topping adds a little "extra". Couple of notes: 1. I doubled the struesel topping since I thought that would make it more yummy and cover the whole pie. I also melted the butter for 30 seconds which helped with the topping. 2. I didn't make the topping with nuts and it still turned out great. I don't think I will add them in the future. THIS IS A KEEPER!!!

Kettle Corn

Reviewed: Nov. 1, 2004
This recipe was a hit when I brought it to a Halloween party. I made 5 batches and filled up a black cauldron and put a sign on the front that said "Kettle Corn". Everyone at the party was so excited to have homemade kettle corn! I followed the directions of others with the 3 kernel rule then added the sugar and then the remaining kernels. I also added red and yellow (to make orange) food coloring. I added the food coloring when I added the sugar. I had several people ask me for the recipe!

Pesto Pasta with Chicken

Reviewed: Jun. 30, 2004
This is a great if you have lots of Basil growing. I also made a few modifications. I used 3 chicken breasts and fresh pesto sauce (from this website). Also, be sure to use the sun-dried tomatoes that are in the olive oil. Otherwise they will be tough at first (but good once reheated as leftovers). I served with garlic bread and wine! YUMMY! My husband really enjoyed this one!

Cream Cheese Penguins

Reviewed: Jun. 5, 2003
I give this recipe 5 stars for presentation and what fun they were to make and all the guests LOVED them! There were the hit of the brial shower. But I give them 3.5 in taste. They are time consuming to make, I made them with 2 other people, so it was not too bad. Once you get your rythm going, its easy. I also made a cheese ball igloo, covered it in whipped cream cheese, and used a toothpick to make the lines of the igloo. I also made a little flag and taped it to a toothpick that said the "Bride and Grooms last names" House. It was great!!! Good Luck!

Fluffy French Toast

Reviewed: Jan. 13, 2003
Funny story - my husband was going to make plain old french toast, but I left this recipe on the counter for him as a "hint-hint". He made it and it turned out wonderful! It had a great flavor! Will make again...maybe next time I will add some pecans on top :-) If he can make it, anyone can!

Easiest Peanut Butter Fudge

Reviewed: Dec. 30, 2002
This was so yummy! This was my first attempt at making fudge ever. The recipe looked too simple to be true, but it came out fantastic. My family said they will never buy fudge from those fudge stores again when I can make it better (and for cheaper!). Per someone elses suggestion, I changed the recipe to be 4 tablesppons of brown sugar and that was great! I did not sift the powder sugar before, and it still came out great! Now I have to figure out how to make choc. peanut butter fudge! Thanks for such a great recipe!

Antojitos Minis

Reviewed: Nov. 25, 2002
These were fabulous! A little time consuming to make, but great! I followed someone elses suggestion - make the circles by using a 1 cup measuring scoop - the tortilla's fit great! I also left out the tomatoes since there was already salsa. Everyone at my party loved them and thought they were so cute! Thanks for the recipe!

Chile 'n' Cheese Spirals

Reviewed: Nov. 25, 2002
One word - AWESOME! I was a little skeptical at first, but these came out great! I didn't quite get 24 servings out of it, but I guess it depends on how big or small you cut the tortillas. I got tons of compliments on these at my party! I will make these again for sure!

These are so yummy and scruptous! My husband loved them! And I really liked the fact that I could marinate them overnight. It helped the next to do just pop them in the oven. This recipe made 10 bundles. Can't wait to make them again!

Candied Sweet Potatoes

Reviewed: Oct. 17, 2002
These were yummy! I used 3 large sweet potatoes and instead of baking for boiling them, I microwaved them until finished and then peeled the skin off and cubed them. I also added a cinnamon spice mix to give it some flavor while cooking...I think that made them even better! My husband loved them! I had it as a side dish to "awesome honey pecan prok chops". SO YUMMY! O

Garlic Green Beans

Reviewed: Oct. 17, 2002
These were super yummy! I loved it!!! I reduced the olive oil as others suggested to 1 tablespoon and also only used 3 pieces of garlic instead of an entire head. I also used fresh green beans and steamed them for 4 minutes and then added them to the pan to saute.
