Baked Pork Chops I

I didn't want to buy an entire bottle of wine to use just 1/3 of a cup, so I substituted chicken broth. It still turned out great and was a huge hit with my family. I will definitely make this again.

Lazygirl's Ground Turkey Stroganoff

I am a Bona-fide Lazy girl and I APPROVE of this recipe!!!! I did add the sour cream plus a little chicken broth. My husband made three trips back for more which is RARE for my cooking. Thank you, HeyMomma, for this wonderful recipe!

Spicy Slow Cooker Black Bean Soup

I was nervous about trying this because the ratings were so divided. But I'm happy to announce this rating is positive! I soaked my dry beans from 6pm until 12pm the next day. I only used 4 cups of broth, and I added a can of diced tomatoes with green chilies and a diced Jalapeno pepper. Per another reader's suggestion, I also added one packet of Goya Sazon. When it was done I blended half of it, and served with cheddar cheese and sour cream. I will make this again.

Baked Pesto Chicken

Black Bean and Rice Salad

I left out the corn and basil because I didn't have them on hand. But the recipe was still so delicious! I also used 6" flour tortillas and made little roll-ups with the filling. Hats off to the reader who suggested Frank's Red Hot sauce. It was the perfect compliment to the meal.

Slow-Cooker Chicken Tortilla Soup

This was pretty good. I did have to use a can of Rotel instead of separate tomatoes & Chilies because it's what I had on hand. I also did not pre-cook the chicken. Will make this again.

Buttermilk Fried Chicken with Gravy

A bit too much work for me, and a lot of mess. It tasted pretty good though. I don't think that it needs to be dredged twice, and the leftovers did not taste good at all.

Swanson® Rosemary Chicken and Roasted Vegetables

Instead of Rosemary, I used Thyme, Green onion and Parsley for herbs. This made for a perfect Sunday dinner. I will make this again and again.

Rolled Buttercream Fondant

This was DISASTROUS for me. It was so greasy, and I couldn't understand why I had to keep adding powdered sugar after throwing 2 pounds of the stuff at it. I will give it an extra star though, considering this was my first time at the Fondant Rodeo, and I probably DON'T know what I'm doing yet. Thank goodness it was my birthday cake I was making. However, I'm not giving up on fondant that easily...I'm just giving up on this recipe.

Slow Cooker Spare Ribs

No knife required! This meat comes clean off the bone. I only wish that the sauce had some kick to it. I will definitely make this again, but I'll use some bold spices or hot peppers to liven it up a little.

Buffalo Chicken Chili

DELICIOUS!! I served it up with some garlic bread for the Superbowl, and there's not a drop left. I eased up on the spices a little, but the chili was still pure perfection. I will definitely be making this again.

Roasted Brussels Sprouts

I had really high hopes for this recipe because of all the rave reviews. I love Brussel's Sprouts any way they come, but this way, not so much. I found that they were a litle on the bitter side and too salty. I may have done something wrong, but next time I'll just stick to boiling them with salt and butter.

Herb Butter Roasted Turkey

This is the best turkey I have ever made! I followed other readers' advice and threw a quartered onion, plus a couple cloves of chopped garlic inside the bird. Wow! what a difference. I've already been asked to make the turkey again because the leftovers disappeared so fast!

Marinated Baked Pork Chops

Delicious!! I only cook for two, but I still doubled the recipe for the sauce (and only put in half the brown sugar), and spread the excess over the chops after serving. Also, if you can get your hands on "Curry Ketchup," use that instead of regular tomato ketchup. Or just add a teaspoon or so of curry powder when you're stirring the sauce. It really adds to the flavor!! My husband LOVED this recipe, and I will definitely be making it again!
