Potato Leek Soup III

Reviewed: Mar. 30, 2005
Oh my... this recipe was scary-good. My 6 y/ old son- who will normally only eat PB & J's, and chicken nuggets, inhaled this soup! He LOVED it! He even ate the leaks (despite the well known kindergartner law that says that green things are yucky unless covered in sugar and or chocolate) Recommendations: The only thing I would change about the recipe is perhaps to cut the butter down to 3/4 cup instead of a full cup. I loved the rich flavor the butter and cream gave, but there was a teensy weensy bit too much butter for hubby and my daughter's liking. Although, they too raved over the soup. (we had no leftovers!)

Japanese-Style Deep Fried Chicken

Reviewed: Jun. 21, 2004
Excellent! Make sure your chicken pieces are about the same size before frying, it'll cut out the guess work to see if they are done or not. Great for kids as is, or add a sauce for dipping or to put over rice. Yummy!

Gourmet Chicken Pizza

Reviewed: Mar. 22, 2004
Fantabulicious! I also used a home made pizza crust, although a good frozen one would also do in a pinch. I also added roasted garlic, artichoke hearts (sliced), and spinach to the dish. The flavors made a packed pizza but worked well together.

Annie's Fruit Salsa and Cinnamon Chips

Reviewed: Aug. 10, 2002
This recipe was a *lot* of work, especially the chips part.It also made quite a lot of the fruit mixtrue.(probably more than necessary) But so many people loved it, it was well worth it.I took it to a baby shower, and many people came up to me with compliments and requests for the recipe. The best part of this recipe is it's unique-ness. Will use for special occasions in the future.

Baker's Secret Pie Crust

Reviewed: Jun. 27, 2001
Absolutely the best pie crust recipe ever! For those (like myself) who don't have a food processor, here's what I did. I sifted all dry ingredients with a fork. Again I did this when mixing the first clump of butter. (butter should be thoroughly mixed at this point, mixture should be slightly sticky {ie, if you squeeze it through your fingers, some clumps should hold) and you should be able to see the butter cloloring uniformly throughout, no chunks, etc.) When it came time to add the second clump, I cut the butter up into 1/4 inch chunks and dropped them in. Then I used two forks and, as if I were cutting spaghetti for kids, and mixed the butter around until pea sized chunks were floating around the mixture.

Caramel Brownies II

Reviewed: Apr. 25, 2001
very yummy, all the men folk loved it! personally, I think I would have added some raw caramel chunks to the second layer to add a little more variety in texture. Swirl some melted caramel up top to make it pretty :o)

Award Winning Soft Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Apr. 25, 2001
I used chocolate pudding with this recipe, and what i liked best about this recipe was that the pudding actually added flavor to the cookie part. Most chocolate chocolate cookies have rather bland tasting cookies, but this was a great way to add some flavor.

Layered Crab Spread

Reviewed: Jan. 30, 2001
The cream cheese mixture was delicious, and I think this recipe would have been fine with some other more crab friendly sauce other than the chili it calls for. The chili was too overwhelming for the delecate crab taste. needs work.
