About 65lbs lost
About this Cook
Getting ready to get married! Yay!!! I'm an eater but as of late, I don't eat so much...especially after losing 75lbs. I have to sacrifice not eating what I want all the time but I get to taste and that seems to work just fine.
My favorite things to cook
Chocolate chip cookies, suicide bars, whoopie pies, steak and onions, any meat really.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Cooking with my wonderful fiance, anytime I can make a large Sunday dinner and Christmas Eve Midnight steak.
My cooking triumphs
Developing my own chocolate chip cookie recipe, altering a family secret recipe and learning some great southern cooking techniques.
My cooking tragedies
Too many to count but my trash can seemed to enjoy them.

All-Day Apple Butter
Great recipe. I tweaked it a bit by cutting the sugar by a cup and used a mix of brown and white sugar. I also added a 1/4 cup of honey and a 1/2 cup of Pinot Noir to give it a umpf.

Fluffy Pancakes
Great recipe. I gave it 4 stars because it needed a little more flavor. Added 2 teaspoons and some nutmeg and it was perfect!

Yellow Cake Made from Scratch
This is a good cake base. You just have to play with the ingredients. I used 2 teaspoons of baking powder instead of 3, oil in place of shortening (it is a cake after all), and because I love vanilla, I used a tablespoon instead. I also am a little heavy handed with greasing the pan so not only was the cake more flavorful and moist with my changes, it popped out of the pan!
