Addictive Sesame Chicken

Reviewed: Sep. 15, 2011
Pretty great recipe. However, I agree with another poster who mentioned that if you add the sauce to the chicken right away it becomes soggy. I put sauce on the side and dipped before eating. Still---it was pretty darn tasty!

Ginger Veggie Stir-Fry

I use this recipe as a base for all types of stir frys. I added shrimp the other day and it was delicious. Good recipe.

Naan

I had trouble with this recipe. I will try it again later and hope it comes together better than it did my first time. It is rated so highly that I would wager that it is in fact amazing. It just wasn't that great for me.

Chocolate Chip Banana Bread II

Reviewed: Sep. 15, 2011
Great Great Great. People who don't typically like banana bread said they loved this bread. People who claimed they don't usually like chocolate loved this bread. I couldn't find anyone who doesn't usually like bread so I just imagine everyone will like this stuff. Thanks for the recipe.

Chicken Makhani (Indian Butter Chicken)

Reviewed: Sep. 15, 2011
Very very good. I used a combo of soy milk and coconut cream instead of half and half and ground raw cashews instead of cornstarch. I also added about 2 tbsp grated fresh ginger and chopped it with 2 tbsp of fresh garlic instead of using the ginger/garlic paste. During the cooking the tastes were a little off but by the time everything came together and I let the flavors mingle for about 10 minutes it was perfect- just like what I get in a restaurant.

Soft Chocolate Cookies

Reviewed: Sep. 15, 2011
Soft and delicious. I tried 3 variations within my batch. I added a tbsp of espresso powder and topped with a coffee bean to 1/3 of the dough, added 1 1/4 cup of chocolate chips to a 1/3 of the dough and went with the original recipe with the last 1/3 of the dough. All 3 kinds were fantastic. Great recipe to keep as is or play around with.

Jackie's Special Meatloaf

Reviewed: Mar. 20, 2011
Got rave reviews from my roommate. She isnt much of a cook but I had her help me out and she couldnt believe we could make such a delicious meal. If a meatloaf can turn someone into a cook then it deserves high ratings. Great recipe Jackie.

Apricot Chicken I

I think it might be one of those things that are better the next day. The sauce thickened up. Great with rice.

Kettle Corn

Reviewed: Mar. 20, 2011
I love this recipe. I had a lot of luck with it when I had a gas range but I moved and now (unfortunately) have an electric stove top. Now I have trouble keeping the sugar from burning on the bottom of the pot. I shake shake shake but it still ends up sticking and burning. I have fluctuated the heat, kernel to oil ratio and timing but to no luck. I guess I am just not accustomed to the new burner. My only advice....be sure to shake.

Lemon Chicken Piccata

Reviewed: Mar. 20, 2011
This was delicious. I read some of the reviews and made sure to watch out for the white part of the lemon peel to avoid bitterness. I overindulged on capers (love them!) and it turned out a little too salty (my fault). Also, I only had bone in chicken thighs on hand so I browned them in a skillet and then put them in the oven on a low temp to finish cooking through as I finished the rest of the mean/sauce. I would recommend the breast over the thighs but it all still worked out and tasted great.

Salmon and Swiss Chard Quiche

Reviewed: Mar. 20, 2011
Sooooo surprised. I added this to my weekly menu under "trying something new" and was very pleasantly surprised. To make things quick and easy on a weeknight I used canned salmon, a frozen pie crust from the store and just used a touch of soymilk in the egg mixture. It was fantastic. Also great the next day as lunch. Just heated it up in the office microwave...ta dah!

Homemade Crispy Seasoned French Fries

Reviewed: Mar. 20, 2011
Wont make them again. The batter was nice. I might use it again if I was deep frying something else. Tried some onions in the batter and they were better than the fries. Just did not like potatoes. More a fritter than a french fry. Creative idea but not to my liking.
