Ground Beef Wellington

This was a great recipe. I followed some of the other reviewer suggestions, such as using onion soup mix. And the campbell's golden mushroom soup in the sauce. I'm looking forward to making them again, but stuffing them with beef and mushrooms, or with ground turkey and dried fruit. So many possibilities, so excited about this convenient little meat package :)

Vegetable Biryani

Very good recipe. After reading reviews I made the following changes: did not soak rice did not add cloves because it was not in my spice drawer: did not add chili powder Used mixed frozen vegetables. served with sour cream and mango chutney which added a necessary spiciness that would probably have been there if I'd had chili powder.

Summer Style Chicken

Easy Fusilli with Tomato Pesto Sauce

This is a very good dish I will make again! Modifications: I used long fusili and topped the pasta with pieces of grilled chicken. I added kalamata olives and a couple splashes of red wine to the sauce as other reviewers suggested.

Basic Crepes

Delicious, not intimidating! I, like others, found it works best to mix the egg with the wet ingredients rather than alone with the flour. When I mixed them alone with the flour the batter and the finished product were lumpy. I found the most success - soft, foldable crepes - when I put a little butter in the pan before each one, or sometimes every third one. This is using Rachael Ray non-stick cookware which it will not stick to w/o butter, but w/o the butter they were sometimes hard and brittle.

Honey Baked Chicken II

This recipe is delicious! I have made it a couple times because it was so good the first time. I used chicken breasts, which came out juicy and tender. I did add garlic and sliced 2 small onions very thin with a mandolin and draped them over the whole top layer of the chicken. I served it with basmati rice. Again, Delicious!

Dark Chocolate Cake I

Warning: This is NOT a rich chocolaty cake. Do not be fooled by descriptions and reviews. It is very moist and fluffy and lovely, but it is not richly chocolaty. If you are looking to make a rich chocolate cake and you make this one, you will be disappointed. It is, however, a lovely moist cake.

Special Buttercream Frosting

disappointed by this recipe. It tastes like shortening, not butter. It gets two stars because it has a frosting consistency which would at least get one by in a jam - meaning, it will lay on a cake and look like fluffy frosting. But it is not good for a birthday cake for someone one likes. And it is does not help the reputation of the person who makes it as a good cook. Like I said, disappointing.

Dolmas (Stuffed Grape Leaves)

I hate to say it, but these were pretty dissapointing. To be fair though, the excellent reviews may have given me higher expectations than I should have started with. Maybe there is a better way to prepare them than to cook the rice and then steam them? Is it okay to prepare the filling fully cooked and then wrap the leaves?

Raspberry Chocolate Supremes

My friends really enjoyed these bars and all asked for the recipe. I would have liked the crust to have been a little less crumbly. More or less exactly what I had in mind when I was looking to make raspberry bars - I made them again, but used chocolate chip cookie dough as the crust. Delicious and chewy.
