Tasty Green Beans

Sue's Hot Fudge Sauce

This is easily the best hot fudge sauce I've ever eaten. We were tempted to put a straw in the bowl and eat it straight! However, we served it with homemade ice cream and our family and guests thought it terriffic.

Cranberry Pecan Pie

I made this pie with very high hopes, but alas, I didn't like it at all. The combination of flavors just isn't to my taste. I love pecans, and I love cranberry, but not together.

Southwest Stew

I have made this twice so far with a little twist each time. I followed some other suggestions and cut down slightly on the amount of meat. I used 2 cans Ro-tel instead of the tomatoes and salsa, taco seasoning in place of the cumin, and minced garlic instead of garlic powder. The second time I made it, I completely omitted the potatoes and served it spooned over corn bread and topped with shredded cheese and a spoonful of sour cream. My husband and parents all agree that this is a very good recipe.

Slow Cooker Chicken and Dumplings

My children loved this. I did the modifications as suggested in other posts: I added vegetables, omitted the butter, and seasoned the chicken. I cooked on low until 2 hours before serving, then added the quartered biscuits and turned the slow cooker to high. The biscuits were perfect. Next time, I think I will use boneless chicken thighs for a richer taste.

Black Bean and Corn Quesadillas

My family really liked these. I used more onions and more salsa (probably twice as much). I folded the tortillas as recommended in an earlier review. We served them with low-fat sour cream and additional salsa. Will definitely make again.
