About this Cook
I am a mother of 2 wonderful boys who love to assist me in the kitchen. I love to make people happy with my cooking and enjoy seeing the biggest smile on their their faces when they consume my dishes!
My favorite things to cook
Chicken anything, and BBQ. I love a challenge, and I often look to this site to break the monotony of my routine dishes.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My Mom and I would spend all day on Sundays cooking spaghetti sauce for either lasagna, manicotti, or stuffed shells. I carry the tradition on with my kids to this day.
My cooking triumphs
Not necessarily considered a triumph, but, I can make certain dishes that people just fall in love with.
My cooking tragedies
I believe the only tragedy that I have ever been guilty of is overcooking steak on the grill!

Baked Ham and Cheese Party Sandwiches
Definitely use fresh chopped onion (not fried) and sauté them with with the honey mustard and Worcestershire mixture. Covering them with foil makes for a delicious melted cheese and soft bun. They are the most popular dish at any party and I end up looking like a star!

Meat Filled Manicotti
This is a similar version that I grew up with - the cottage cheese is much lighter than Ricotta. I used 1/2 lb of ground turkey and 1/2 lb pork sausage. I cooked the meat with garlic, shallots and onion. I make a homemade tomato sauce and a Bechemal (5 TBL butter, 4 TBL all-purpose flour, 4 C milk, 2 tsp salt, 1/2 tsp nutmeg) to go on top in order to enhance the dish. Fresh parsley is a must. The flavors are incredible.
