Potato Curry

Reviewed: Feb. 22, 2008
Excellent, You need Ghee, But I found this on how to make it How to make Ghee At Home Pure unsalted Butter (not margarine) 1. Heat butter in a saucepan in high-medium heat until it boils or bubbles. 2. Reduce heat to medium-low and cook uncovered until butter turns to a clear golden color. (Butter usually begins to boils with lots of bubbles. When it is done, it will have foams on top of it indicating that ghee is nearly done.) 3. Cool it and store it in dry container. Use ghee in you regular cooking. I added I can of rinsed chickpeas/garbanzo beans and served it with whole wheat naan, this is how a local indian restaurant we go to has served it. Also its took me no more the 30 minutes from start to finish with clean up. Be careful the yellow colored sauce tends to stain things.

Crispy Barbequed Tofu Slices

Reviewed: Mar. 9, 2008
We loved this! But you do have to bake the tofu first as another reviewer suggested, otherwise your tofu will not be crispy.

Oma's Fabulous Matzo Ball Soup

Reviewed: Mar. 3, 2008
Very good. Makes lots of balls. I froze more than half of them. I thought I had my mixture wrong, because the balls did not float right away. Give them a few minutes, they floated for me.

Mozzarella Meat Loaf

Reviewed: Mar. 11, 2008
This was a lot of fun to make. I used turkey instead of beef and added spinach instead of mushrooms. Best meatloaf I have ever made. Will make again! Thanks for the recipe.

Power Bars

Reviewed: Feb. 22, 2008
My family loved it. Even my toddler. Save your self some time spray your pot, and spoon with baking spray, its keeps everything from sticking and makes it easier to spread in the pan. I added some chocolate chips after putting it in the pan before it completely cooled.

Strawberry Balsamic Chicken

Reviewed: Feb. 21, 2008
Nice flavor, I was surprised because the cinnamon and strawberry yogurt neutralize the acidity of the balsamic vinegar. I did marinate for 24 hours which I do think is needed to get the right flavor.

Aggression ( Oatmeal ) Cookies

Reviewed: Feb. 7, 2008
These were fun to make but they crumbled when you touched them and ended up all over the floor. I agree with the other reviewer who stated they tasted like butter and sugar. I had to throw these out and I have never had to that with anything I have made from this site before.

Rolled Buttercream Fondant

Reviewed: Mar. 9, 2008
Lots of fun to work with, can be time consuming and cakes covered with fondant do not refrigerate well. Leaving the fondant white, is also hard because you tens to be able to see the cake through the fondant.

Cranberry Salad III

This is so good everyone loved it even my picky 2y old. It takes some time for the first layer to set, so don't make the cream cheese layer right away. Will make every thanksgiving! Thanks!

All American Roast Beef

Reviewed: Feb. 5, 2008
I did not believe that this roast would be moist, but I took a chance and will only make it this way now. It is moist and very flavorful, you must you kosher salt. I do not think it would be the same without it. It is truly a classic roast beef, even my non meat eating two year old could not stop eating it!

Hubby's Pizza Bread

Reviewed: Jan. 31, 2008
Don't let the picture fool you. That is how pepperoni bread looks. If you make the recipe as written, everything will be pulverized and your bread will be orange. We love pepperoni bread, but this is something very different. Will not make this again. My bread also did not cook all the way through on the light setting.

Baklava

Reviewed: Oct. 5, 2007
This recipe is great.I used raw almonds and dried cranberries. I did follow the suggestion of making the sauce ahead of time and letting it cool and then ladled it over the baklava when it came out of the oven. I did let the phyllo defrost in the fridge over night and let it get to room temp prior to assembly. Use the moist towel over the plastic wrap, it will keep it from sticking to the phyllo. I used a pastry brush to apply the butter to the layers and I needed to use 1.5 cups of butter. A keeper!

Spaetzle I

Reviewed: Mar. 12, 2008
Excellent, but only 4 stars because there is no way this dough was going through a colander(I tried 5 different ones). I used a garlic press. I would love to know to get it through the stainer, even the grater didn't work for me. I guess i hae to get that spaetzle press. There was a ton dough, I only made half which filled up a large bowl. I did let the dough rest for a few hours and used a combo of water and milk, and added nut meg. Once the water was really boiling the pasta floated almost instantly.
