Cream of Broccoli Soup I

Reviewed: Jul. 28, 2009
Delicious! The nutmeg is a perfect touch that gives it a unique flavor. I used mozzarella instead of cheddar bc that's all I had on hand and it is very tasty!

Supreme Scalloped Potatoes

Reviewed: Mar. 26, 2009
I make this all the time because it's quick to prepare if you chop the potatoes raw (and I don't peel them because the skin is healthy), follow the instructions and simply increase the bake time for 1.5 hours. I also use this as a main dish on meatless nights, but add more cheese. Very tasty!

Italian Rice Balls

Reviewed: Mar. 20, 2009
OH MY GOSH THESE ARE GOOD! My new favorite vegetarian entree! I used instant rice, with equal amounts of water and rice. I added extra Parm and some bread crumbs to rice mix for extra hold, and pepperjack cheese to the mix for some extra spice, as well as additional Italian herbs. I pan-fried with about 1 tablespoon of olive oil, which worked fine, and saved me from using a ton of expensive olive oil. They're delicious served with spaghetti sauce and a vegetable, because you get both the protein and starch in the balls themselves. TRY THIS RECIPE!!

Rosemary Roasted Turkey

Reviewed: Jan. 11, 2009
So so so so good. My family loooved this turkey on Thanksgiving, they went on and on about how good it was. I paired it with the "awesome cranberry apple sausage" stuffing recipe from this site--perfect combination. I used an oven bag, and cooked the turkey breast-side down for most of the time, then flipped it for the last 2 hours (for presentation purposes). This seemed to make the meat extra moist.

Scalloped Potatoes and Onions

Reviewed: Jan. 10, 2009
These potatoes are fantastic! Like another reviewer suggested, I first sauteed the onion in the butter with garlic, then added flour, brother, mayo. I also added parsley and paprika (~1/2 teaspoon each) to the finished sauce prior to adding it to potatoes. This will be my new scalloped potatoes recipe! Note: to make gluten-free, add cornstarch instead of flour, it works just as well.

Fresh Pumpkin Pie

Reviewed: Jan. 9, 2009
Me and my mom had a pumpkin pie contest at Thanksgiving, and this recipe was so good she ended up eating it instead of her own! The honey adds a unique, awesome flavor.

Irish Soda Bread I

Reviewed: Jan. 6, 2009
I made this for my Irish grandma for Christmas, and she was so happy because it reminds her of her childhood, when her mother made Irish soda bread almost every day. Also, I made it with mini chocolate chips bc I didn't have any caraway seeds--this was lucky because my grandma said they get stuck in her dentures! It was great with the choc chips.

Rosemary Ranch Chicken Kabobs

Reviewed: Feb. 3, 2009
This is the best chicken marinade I've ever used--it has the perfect amount of tang and spice. Only slight changes--I used 1/4 c. olive oil instead of 1/2, and added a little cayenne and red pepper flakes to give it an extra kick. I baked it with the marinade included in the pan at 450 for 20 minutes as another reviewer suggested and the marinade was delicious as a sauce on rice. Thanks for the recipe!

Chicken Breasts with Herb Basting Sauce

Reviewed: Jan. 9, 2009
Excellent recipe. I marinated it overnight, then threw it all in a pan to bake, no basting necessary. Very tasty!

Awesome Sausage, Apple and Cranberry Stuffing

Reviewed: Dec. 7, 2008
DELICIOUS! I am now in charge of stuffing every year thanks to this delicious recipe! I'm not a big meat-eater, but sausage does have a delicious flavor and makes for a nice contrast with the fruit, herbs and bread. I left out the liver--it seems unnecessary. I used the "Rosemary roasted turkey" recipe from this website also and the flavors of the two dishes were perfect together! A perfect Thanksgiving meal!

Easy Chicken and Corn Chowder

Reviewed: Nov. 12, 2013
Great recipe! I threw it all in the crockpot while I slept during the day so dinner was ready when I woke up. Also, I used soy half/half instead of lactose because my bf is lactose intolerant. The substitution actually worked well bc it added a very subtle sweetness. I also added some spices like Italian seasoning, chicken bouillon cubes and Cajun seasoning to give it more flavor. Very easy and delicious, id def make it again!

Quick and Easy Alfredo Sauce

Reviewed: Mar. 21, 2009
Great recipe. I took the advice of other reviewers and added 1/2 chopped onion and 2 garlic cloves to butter as it melted, and used less milk (about 1 1/4 cup). I also added some Italian herbs and a few red pepper flakes. DELICIOUS.

Chocolate Chip Banana Muffins

Reviewed: Mar. 20, 2009
Wow, these are the perfect snack muffins. They're sweet, but not overly sugary. You can eat them for breakfast without feeling like you're eating dessert. If you do want to make them more of a dessert though, they'd be good with a brown sugar/butter/cinnamon topping. OR you could even frost them. They def don't need any additions though--they're perfect as is.
