London Broil Sauce

Reviewed: Aug. 3, 2008
This was pretty salty for me. I guess it's the brown gravy and dry onion soup mixture. Wasn't too crazy about this one. Probably will try a different one next time.

Cheesy Potato Salad

Reviewed: Aug. 3, 2008
I think what I did wrong was make this salad a day ahead. It was pretty dry. I even mixed another mayo/sour cream mixture before serving it but it wasn't as good as when I first had mixed it the day before. I omitted the sugar all together per the previous reviewers. I also used red onion instead of green b/c I didn't have any. My daughter also like the salad when it was still warm and not refrigerated. I will try this again but I won't make it ahead of time. I also added a ton of bacon bit far more than what it called for. Next time I also might add a dry ranch dressing mix to the mayo/sour cream mixture. That'll give it another kick.

Chicken Crunch

Reviewed: Jul. 31, 2008
Awesome!! I followed previous suggestions from this site: I had 3 chicken breasts (which I cubed). I sauteed 1/2 of a medium onion (chopped) with 2 small garlic cloves (minced) in about 2 tablespoons of good olive oil. I sauteed until the onions were transparent and added the garlic... and then I added the cubed chicken. Cooked pretty thoroughly. I also added 12 ounces of broccoli cuts (still frozen) when all the chicken was cooked I added 1/4 teaspoon of poultry seasoning. In a separate bowl I mixed 2 cans of Cream of MUSHROOM soup, 8 ounces of sour cream and 1/2 cup of white wine. I mixed that in with the cooked chicken, garlic and onions and broccoli. I dumped it all in a casserole dish. I melted 1/2 cup of butter and drizzled that over 2 cups of herb seasoned stuffing and tossed. I sprinkled that over the casserole and then topped with about 1/4 cup of French Fried Onions. Baked at 350 degrees uncovered for about 30 minutes in a 9x10 inch casserole dish. All I can say is WoW !!! The smell in the kitchen was unreal. Everyone in my family loved it and it fed 6 people, 3 adults and 3 kids and I had leftovers. I will be making this again. Not only is it easy to make but it is inexpensive. By the way , I did not use the low sodium soups because I didn't have them. The casserole was not salty at all! We ate it with spinach risotto and leftover Corn Casserole III (found on allrecipes).

Seared Tuna with Wasabi-Butter Sauce

Reviewed: Jul. 22, 2008
Wow. Really yummy sauce. Things I did differently were... I used only 1 stick of butter and substituted onions for the shallots because I didn't have any shallots. I also used white vinegar Instead of white wine vinegar. Didn't have any wasabi powder/paste so I used the wasabi that we had last night with our sushi. Not sure if that is the same thing but it all worked out in the end. I didn't add the soy until the very end because I only had salted butter and I was afraid it was going to be too salty. Turns out it wasn't so I added the soy at the very end. Did Not use the fresh cilantro because almost everyone in my family hates cilantro except for ME. I think the cilantro would add another wonderful dimension. ALL in ALL this sauce is wonderful. I literally could have drank it. It did turn out a bit thin, not sure why but it didn't matter. It was delicious. I would absolutely make this sauce again.

Slow Cooker Taco Soup

Reviewed: Jul. 16, 2008
Very tasty and super easy recipe to make. I cooked the onions first before adding the beef. Cooked thoroughly and then added the remaining ingredients and transferred to crock pot. I have also substituted one of the cans with black beans. I added a package of Ranch dressing (the dry mix). It seems to give it a really nice flavor. This recipe is pretty versatile. You can use ground turkey to make it healthier. Great meal to make ahead of time and easy to alter so you can feed a large crowd. Thanks

Beef Stroganoff III

Reviewed: Nov. 13, 2007
This was great. I loved it !! I tweaked the recipe a bit. I used a london broil (all I had). Sliced it very thin and sauteed it in butter. I added about 3 medium onions (sliced). Added 2 cans of low sodium beef broth and 24 ounces of sliced fresh mushrooms. I also put it in the pressure cooker for 25 minutes. It made the meat so tender and it took less time. After I opened the pressure cooker I added 1 tblspoon of cornstarch to 1/2 cup of wine and added a few dashes of Worsceshire sauce. I also added 1/2 package of onion soup mix. At the very end I added about 1/2 cup of sour cream. Served with egg noodles. This recipe is a keeper. I love Beef Stroganoff but it never came out flavorful enough. This was awesome. Thank You !!

Chicken Souvlaki Gyro Style

Reviewed: Nov. 8, 2007
Loved this meal. I marinated the chicken in a ziploc bag with Italian dressing which I added about 1/4 tspn of Greek seasoning to. I marinated it for about two days. Hadn't planned on marinating it that long but that's how it worked out. The yogurt sauce is delicious. My family loved this one. We ate until we were almost sick.

Cheese Fondue

Reviewed: Nov. 8, 2007
Super Easy to make. I followed the advice of others and tossed the flour with the cheese before adding it to the wine. I used a Sauvignon Blanc that was nice and dry. Spend the money for the good wine especially if you are using good expensive cheese. We dipped boiled baby potatoes, asparagus, baby carrots (blanched), red potatoes, french bread, grapes, granny smith apples and grape tomatoes. Made this for Fondue Virgins and they loved it ! Will keep this recipe !! I did add the nutmeg which I was hesitant about but it turned out great !

Slow Cooker Lemon Garlic Chicken II

Reviewed: Oct. 22, 2007
Everyone in my family disliked this meal. I reduced the amount of cooking by alot. I cooked it for only 2.5 hours in the slow cooker and the chicken was still incredibly dry. The oregano overpowered the chicken . Will not make again.

Broiled Tilapia Parmesan

Reviewed: Oct. 12, 2007
I made this for dinner. I pretty much followed it to a T. I did add about 1 tablespoon of freshly chopped dill into the mayo/cheese mixture and 1/4 tspn of garlic powder. It turned out great. Everyone in my family loved it. This is a super super easy recipe to follow. It's a great fast recipe for those days you don't feel like cooking ! I served this with zucchini boats.
