Reviewed: May 31, 2011
I made this in a 1/2 Sheet cake pan (10x15) for a potluck. I was biringing Strawberry shortcake. It turned out perfect. I added Vanilla. I think Lemon Extract would be great as well.

Slow-Cooker Chicken Tortilla Soup

Reviewed: Jan. 25, 2010
I made it with 3 frozen skinless chicken breasts, no water only chicken broth and I used a whole 16oz bag of frozen corn. Threw everything in the Crockpot at night and had beautiful soup in the morning. I serverd it at a party and everybody loved this recipe. Some with lime, sour cream and avocado at end and some without depending on their personal preference. I found that the core recipe is just a really nice balanced soup. I did not use beans because the guest of honor does not eat beans but I imagine a can of black beans would add a really nice touch.

Chicken Pot Pie IX

Reviewed: Nov. 1, 2009
This is a rgeat and easy recipe. I have made it several times. I do make my own pie crust. I also modify it for my family. They do not like Celery or Peas so I omit. I add either red or white potatoes and fresh or frozen corn depending on the time of year. It is always gobbled up. Just wish I wasn't so fond of something with some many calories.

Honey Corn Bread

Reviewed: Nov. 1, 2009
Great upgrade to the standard. It is a bit sweet but that is what my family loved about it. The always add honed to corn bread this recipe really gives it a nice honey flavor. My daughter did not linke the addition of corn so now when I make it is omit the corn and it is still really nice. Thanks!

Great recipe - Everyone loved these muffins. I used brown sugar in the topping and added nutmeg. Other than that I changed nothing.

Hoot-n Holler Baby Back Pork Ribs

Reviewed: Nov. 1, 2009
Everyone loved the ribs. Folowed the recipe with the exception of using regular pork ribs, not baby back, mine were just bigger. I haven't cooked them before this and the recipe was easy and really tasty. Thanks!

Apple Turnovers

Reviewed: Nov. 1, 2009
Love this recipe. It's relatively easy. I did not find it necessary to put the apples in lemon water they were fine. I always use Granny Smith and Golden Delicious Apples for my pies and did the same here. I added nutmeg too because I love it. I doubled the recipe and glazed half and used raw sugar to coat the other half. Everyone ate them up. Thanks!

Sour Cream Apple Pie Deluxe

Reviewed: Nov. 1, 2009
Everyone loved this pie. I made 4 of them over the last week for two Sunday brunches. I used more apples than called for about 3 cups or so. I always use both Granny Smith and Golden Delicious in my apple pies. I made two pies and trippled the topping recipe. I used brown sugar for that and added about a cup of chopped pecans to the topping for one of them. I hadn't ever made Sour Cream Apple pies but now will incorporate this recipe into my regualr baking. Thanks!

Spinach Stuffed Chicken Breast

Reviewed: Apr. 30, 2009
I loved this recipe as did my family. I just wasn't prepared for was the preparation. I haven't ever stuffed chicken breast before. It's not as easy as it sounds. With this particular recipe, which includes sour cream, the chicken and filling are all really messy. I couldn't tell whether it was going to hold together or if there was enough filling or what. I used a family pack of full size chicken breasts which I cut in half and pounded down. Needless to say they we not uniform in size at all. I doubled the recipe of filling because I had 4 huge breasts and it turned out I had a lot of filling left over. I actually cooked it with some bacon over the top in a baking dish and it turned out great. All in all it was a big hit. As they say “anything with bacon”!

Biscotti

Reviewed: Dec. 18, 2008
This is my first attempt at Biscotti. This recipe was very easy and delicious. I happen to like the Anise flavor and added a tablespoon of crushed anise seed. I think I could have even added more for more flavor. Second batch I used tablespoon of Almond Extract and 3/4 cup chopped almonds to change it up a bit. The flavor is nice however with the almonds the dough broke up a bit more while cooking and was more difficult to cut.

Maple Salmon

Reviewed: Oct. 6, 2007
This recipe sold my family on Salmon. We have enjoyed it a lot. I ran out of Maple Syrup and used a couple tablespoons of brown sugar instead and it worked out really well too.

Chocolate Cavity Maker Cake

Reviewed: Oct. 6, 2007
Every chocolate lovers dream. This cake is always a big hit. I have had trouble with it sticking to my bundt pan so now I make it in my 2 part Angel Food Cake pan. It still looks good, just not quite as pretty, but anyone eating it doesn't care what it looks like.

The Best Rolled Sugar Cookies

Reviewed: Oct. 6, 2007
This recipe was simple and very tasty. I was able to prepare it in advance. I used it for a 4th grade class party. I tripled the recipe and used my very large martini shaker to cut out about 80 5" round cookies. I made it simple for the kids by using canned cake frosting and different kinds of sprinkles to let them decorate their own cookies. They loved it.
