A friend brought me a bunch of basil from her garden, so I decided to try making pesto (for the first time!). The only thing I did differently was to use a combination of pine nuts and sunflower seeds, as I didn't have any walnuts on hand. I will use walnuts next time, because I love their flavor. I didn't measure but kind of "eyeballed" amounts, too. My pesto turned out GREAT! I can't wait to follow the lead of another reviewer to spread it over chicken breasts with sliced tomatoes and mozzarella and bake. Yum! Thanks for the wonderful pesto recipe!
