Yellow Squash

My 6 year old and I love these! The tric is to cook them until they're not crunchy but aren't yet mush. I put them in for ~10 minutes or when the cheese is just starting to brown a little.

Grandma's Hash Browns

We really like this recipie and it's pretty simple. I couldn't find Balsamic glaze in the store and my attempts at making it failed miserably. However, I just use regular Balsamic vinegerette and it works great.

Pizza Dough I

We love this pizza dough recipe. My daughter and I make it together all the time. She loves to knead it :) We also made this during a play date and her friends got to pick the toppings. They still talk about that! One suggestion though, we found that the dough is much more elastic if you sub. 1/2 the white flour with whole wheat flour.

Southern Candied Sweet Potatoes

This was great...we'd planted some sweet potatoes in the garden this year and I was scrambling to figure out what to do with them. My daugther, who swore she would NEVER eat sweet potatoes gobbled them up. One recommendation...I didn't have the hour that this recipe called for so I cut the sweet potatoes smaller. They cooked faster and it was still very good! Also, I second another reviewer they were good as leftovers too :)

Spoiled Baby Back Ribs

Made these for Memorial Day Weekend last year and they were a complete hit. The sauce was really good. I'd never used liquid smoke before (found it at my local Giant but I had to ask b/c it was not in an obvious spot) but I'm definately going to use it from now on. The relatives all begged for the recipe!

Stuffed Peppers

We LOVE this. I've tried other recipies that use tomato soup and they're too sweet. Some small changes...I use red peppers and I second the tip from others about prepping them by boiling them for 1-2 minutes before baking. My 6 year old fights me for the last of these. ;)

Hearty Split Pea Soup

I've made this recipe several times and it's always excellent. I would make one recommendation though; for the ham use leftover honey baked ham. The honey glaze really adds to the flavor.

Emily's Famous Hash Browns

I made these too thick the first time and they came out mushy but the flaor was excellent. I made them thinner the second time and they were perfect. I did not pre cook the poataoes at all but they turned out just fine.
