Amish Meatloaf

Reviewed: Oct. 14, 2007
wow! this is what meatloaf is supposed to taste like! i know a lot of reviewers complained about the sweetness, but i love it. the only change i made was that i added chopped green peppers and minced fresh garlic to the onions and sauteed all of it in olive oil until almost tender before adding to the mix. definitely halve the glaze recipe. and next time i make it i'll use only 2c. of ritz.

Balsamic Roasted Red Potatoes

Reviewed: Oct. 14, 2007
awesome! other than leaving out the nutmeg, i followed the recipe as is, and it was fantastic. i wondered if the balsamic vinegar would be overpowering, but it wasn't. i can't wait to make these again.

Southern Potato Salad

This was really good! Pretty sweet though, and I really like sweet. But I'll probably cut back on the sugar next time I make it.

Sloppy Joes II

Reviewed: Nov. 5, 2007
These were SO great!! Some reviews griped about them not being sloppy enough, but I like them neater. Also, I didn't drain the meat (I buy lean beef so I don't have to drain it!). I also used fresh minced garlic instead of powder and a teaspoon of worcestershire sauce. Awesome!

Blue Cheese, Bacon and Chive Stuffed Pork Chops

Reviewed: Nov. 5, 2007
Wow! Very rich!! Soooo good! It definitely takes more than 20 minutes to cook. And I think next time I make them, I'll brown them in a pan first. I can't wait!

Salsa Chicken

Reviewed: Jan. 15, 2008
so awesome! i, too, marinated the chicken for an hour in a whole packet of seasoning mixed with a 1/3 cup of water. otherwise, i did everything else the same.

Simple Hamburger Stroganoff

Reviewed: Jan. 26, 2008
okay, so here's what i did: when i browned the beef (a little over 1 lb.), i included a few cloves of minced garlic and about half a sweet onion, minced and salt & pepper to taste. once browned, i mixed in 2 tbsp. worcestershire sauce, a 1.25 oz. packet of mushroom & herb gravy (that's what i had on hand) and can of 'shrooms with liquid. then i mixed in 4 oz. of cream cheese until completely combined. then i mixed a can and a half of the cream of 'shroom soup and a cup of milk. while it simmered, i cooked the whole 16 oz. package of egg noodles. to serve, we topped the noodles with the burger sauce by the plate and then added our own individual amount of sour cream. this was so awesome!!! it made for great leftovers, too!

this was great! super rich, though. i followed it ingredients-wise and let it refrigerate for a few hours before baking it.

Seafood Pasta Salad

Reviewed: Feb. 22, 2008
i really liked the dressing in this recipe as written. i used penne because that's what i had, and i didn't use celery because i would end up picking it out anyway (don't like it). the whole thing was great, though next time i'll probably use less pasta and make more dressing to add after the salad's been in the fridge for a day or so.

Chicken Breasts with Balsamic Vinegar and Garlic

Reviewed: Apr. 12, 2008
chicken was very tender and juicy and the mushrooms had a lot of really good flavor. i think next time i might try to marinate the chicken beforehand or something so that it'll have more flavor.

Mushroom Salisbury Steak

Reviewed: Apr. 12, 2008
the only time i'd ever had salisbury steak before was either at a cafeteria or frozen meals. this was awesome! the only things i changed were i used less worcestershire (3 tbsp. - it was to heavy the first time i tried it), and i used italian style dry bread crumbs because that's what i had. oh! - and i also used 8 oz. of fresh mushrooms.

White Cheese Chicken Lasagna

Reviewed: Apr. 15, 2008
oh WOW!! this tasted like it came from a restaurant! and it took forever, too! it was probably the most labor intensive dish i've made in a long time. but the sauce was absolutely awesome!! i followed the advice about cooking the chicken in bacon grease and sprinkling the bacon over the spinach. i think that gave it something i would've missed otherwise! i also don't care for spinach, so i only used 1 package - plenty! i'm giving this 5 stars as is because the changes made it worth 10!

Slow Cooker Maple Country Style Ribs

i LOVED these! my husband not so much. i think i'll try it next time without the allspice and cinnamon as those are reminiscent of jerk seasoning - which DH doesn't like.

Angel's Ravioli Alfredo with Mushrooms

Reviewed: Jul. 18, 2012
i used the alfredo sauce recipe by b. mason instead of the jarred stuff. i had cheese and garlic tortellini available and used baby portabella mushrooms because they were on sale. i also threw some pre-cooked frozen chicken strips in with the shrooms at the beginning. this was so amazing! i give it 5 stars even though i didn't do as exactly stated. it provided the basis of an amazing recipe!
